Eventually we all find our way to Big Apples

Got the 2.35". Didn't feel as quick as the 2" Kojaks but that could be due to width. Excellent tire still. Would recommend the narrower size for a back tire and the larger for front (I kept the kojak in the rear).

Pros: Fast, for it's size/weight, and excellent puncture protection.

Cons: The 2.35 does feel a little more slow in the back.

Great Balloon Tire (26 x 2.35)

These tires are on my commuter/errand bike and have held up great over a summer of city riding. My roads aren't horrible, but glass and potholes are common. I have also taken the occasional gravel and dirt path and the tires were solid. The reflective sidewalls are a nice safety feature and work well.

Pros: Durable, easy to mount

Cons: None yet

Way faster than its weight suggests

After years of hearing the praise of the Big Apples, I gave in to the temptation and ordered some 26x2.35 tires for my Xtracycle (use of these on the Xtracycle was greatly influenced by the reviewer below, thanks!). Killer tires, I love 'em and wish I had ordered them sooner. The bike rides completely different now, it's wonderful. Never have I had tires that made such a positive difference.

Pros: Fast
Comfortable
Smooooooooth
Reflective sidewalls

Cons: Weight, but its not noticed really.

Hey Big Apple

I ran close to 10,000 miles on my Catrike recumbant with three of these through thick and thin, over curbs and through city streets as well as century rides and never once got a flat. Running at only 30PSI or even lower they absorb every bump except for big potholes and they even handle them with ease. No rolling resistance or sidewall sway is noticeable. These things are amazing tires and I will be putting some new ones on my 26" cruiser. I highly recommend these tires for their wear length, flat freeness, good tread in wet and heat, both on road and trail.

Pros: Long life, hugely dependable, flat free....what else could you want

Cons: Only comes in wider sizes but then, it is not a road tire

The Big Apple

Just got back from first ride with the Schwalbe Big Apple 29 x 2.0. Wow! Was having a hard time finding a good street tire for my new 29er, but after some research decided to give these a try. Fast, comfortable and exactly what I was looking for.

Pros: Fast, look great. To soon to comment on much else as I have only been on one ride. Ohhh but what a ride:=)

Cons: none so far

THE city tire to rule them all.

Want the best tire for traveling the urban jungle? You've come to the right place.

These are the real deal: 9000 miles on my Xtracycle and no flats. That's right nearly 10,000 miles! I think I got a screw through a front tire somewhere north of 9k and then I stopped counting. In fact, the only reason I retired these is because I'm vain and figured that if my new big dummy was going to get the Xtracycle's old wheels it at least deserved some sexy new rubber (see the colorful fat frank).

Pros: Smooth ride. Amazing durability. Virtually flat free. They last forever.

Cons: Heavy, but so what - my BD weighs about 50# fully laden every day.

Kind of expensive, but that's compared to normal tires that wear out in a couple thousand miles. When you factor in the long life of these babies, it's like you are getting them for nuthin'.

easily the best slick tire for your mtb. if what you want is something that will not flat on terrible streets, be squishy, and way fast at the same time.

Cons: heavy as hell
