Great front tire

I have only been riding this tire for a few weeks but it is the best front tire I have ever ridden. 20psi tubeless and my speed immediately improved, No rolling or slipping on corners that I have always slipped on

Pros: Great cornering tire on front, set up tubeless on Stan's rim nicely, ride great tubeless

Cons: The tire leaks slowly but not fast enough to be a problem.

Mountain King Protection 29er review

I bought this tire because it would fit a 2012 Pivot Mach 429 as per Pivot. It did and with room to spare. I tried this tire on a Mavic ST 29er UST wheelset and had problems getting it to seal correctly. The bead didn't like the UST bead socket. I remounted on Stans ZTR Flow 29er wheels and it snapped in nicely and sealed up pretty good on the first try. Traction seems pretty good given that it's a narrow tire. They say it's a 2.2 but it's closer to a 1.95 and is a low volume tire running at higher pressures than say an actual 2.2. Recommended pressure is 45 psi and that seems to work pretty well.

Pros: Decent traction in most rocky and moderately loose conditions.

Cons: A little more rolling resistance than other tires but also has larger knobs.
