Cable Housing set I replace my housing and cable set often since I live in the wet NW. I have to purchase these items often Pros: I often have left over pieces of cable kits and don't need absolutely everything. This enables me to buy just what I need to replace without the stuff I already have at home Cons: The Housing is a bit overbuilt its overly thick. Its burly and almost restrictive. The metal jacket on this stuff is thick!! Would Buy Again: No Would Recommend: No Reviewed on: May 16, 2013 Reviewed by: Charlie s., Oregon Was this review Helpful? Yes No Report as Inappropriate
Basic is good Great cable for a budget build. Pros: All the right parts and all the right places. Reviewed on: March 22, 2013 Reviewed by: Garrett O., Nebraska Was this review Helpful? Yes No Report as Inappropriate
Great quick and inexpensive spare wire and housing to keep in toolbox. Nothing is worse than having to take your bike to the shop and wait for a repair. This cable/housing is quick and easy to install and is a little more robust than other offerings Pros: Low cost.
Works flawlessly.
Easy install. Cons: There are slicker alternatives but those are far more expensive. Would Buy Again: Yes Would Recommend: Yes Reviewed on: December 04, 2012 Reviewed by: Steve, North Carolina Was this review Helpful? Yes No Report as Inappropriate
They call these basic for a reason...they are very basic. Watch out for the uncoated wires cus they can fray very easy. I also notice that the housing is a bit larger than standard derailleur housing so I had to use brake housing furrells.
Otherwise if your looking for the cheepest on the market, this is it!!
I'll give it 5 stars for the price vs performance. Pros: Super cheep Cons: Super cheep Would Buy Again: Yes Would Recommend: Yes Reviewed on: September 25, 2012 Reviewed by: Stewart C., Oregon Was this review Helpful? Yes No Report as Inappropriate
Inexpensive basic cable/housing set Great product and meets minimum specs for most shifting applications. It has a nylon liner to keep shifting smooth. Pros: Inexpensive Cons: None Would Buy Again: Yes Would Recommend: Yes Reviewed on: September 16, 2012 Reviewed by: Warren C., California Was this review Helpful? Yes No Report as Inappropriate
good value set Nice housing and cable set. Unless it's the correct length you will almost always have to cut the housing and cable to length. Then you will need an additional ferrule for the cut end. I found the housing a bit thick and I had to use a brake cable housing ferrule for the end I had cut. Pros: cable and housing together
good value Cons: will almost always need a ferrule (which is not included)
housing is thicker than normal derailleur cable housing Would Buy Again: Yes Would Recommend: Yes Reviewed on: August 20, 2012 Reviewed by: Ed S., Sacramento, CA Was this review Helpful? Yes No Report as Inappropriate
I always keep these on hand just in case I need to throw some cables on and I don't have Ripcords sitting around. Good stuff and cheap. Would Buy Again: Yes Would Recommend: Yes Reviewed on: December 27, 2011 Reviewed by: Jonathan V., Michigan Was this review Helpful? Yes No Report as Inappropriate
