Great shorts! Like the new magnet on the pockets better than the old snap button. Pros: Very well made and super tough! Cons: None. Reviewed on: May 12, 2013 Reviewed by: Brian, Portland Was this review Helpful? Yes No Report as Inappropriate
My favorite shorts to ride in, great ratchet strap to tighten them, great waterproof material, lots of pockets and very comfortable Pros: Comfortable, great ratchet strap, lots of pockets Cons: none Would Buy Again: Yes Would Recommend: Yes Reviewed on: February 09, 2013 Reviewed by: Jacob C., Washington Was this review Helpful? Never going back......... These shorts are awesome and the more I use them the more I love them. Wanted some durable shorts for DH/AM riding. Saw these, tried them on and got them. Was concerned a little bit about how stiff the material was, but got them anyway and glad that I did. The look is killer, fit is even better and also they are waterproof. Wrecked a few times wearing them and to my surprise no rips or even scuff marks. Pros: Waterproof, easy to clean, durable, sweet look, made in a riding stance. Cons: Sitting in the car the "MOTO" label rubbed off (but it looks fine without it). And the heavy zipper on the pockets scratch your hands when getting in and out of them. Pro's outweigh the cons by far still. Would Buy Again: Yes Would Recommend: Yes Reviewed on: January 26, 2013 Reviewed by: Andrew S., Portland Oregon Was this review Helpful? Troy Lee Moto - DH They are tough, great for DH knocks.
There is no ventilation and they will get pretty hot. I thought the leg was about an inch to long and grabbed my knee when pedaling - had them shortened at the dry cleaner.
The back waist band is kinda narrow compared to my old nemas. These feel like they are falling down sometimes.
Overall not bad but i'd recomend the Nemas first. Pros: Tough
Not a bad fit
Pockets Cons: Hot - no ventilation
Waist band feels funky Would Buy Again: No Would Recommend: No Reviewed on: January 16, 2013 Reviewed by: Nicholas C. Was this review Helpful? Yes No Report as Inappropriate
Great shorts These are a crowd pleaser for good reason. Nice design and construction. The fabric is similar to nylon/cordura pack cloth. It's a bit too stiff and heavy for XC riding and doesn't let much air through on a hot day. For any riding leaning towards the DH end of the spectrum, these are great. They add a little skin protection and will stand up to crashes. TLD's size chart was spot on. My waist measures 34" and the size 32s fit fine but with no room to spare. Pros: Good fit, burly, nice pockets, nice stretch panels. Cons: Heavy, not much ventilation.
