Space saver I traditionally had a small frame pump that I stored in my Camelbak while mountain biking. Now that I road ride some I wanted something smaller so I picked up a GI inflator. These 12g refills fit my unit and you can load one in the plastic tube upside down and the nipple sticks out of the bottom where the pump head will not pierce the cylinder. I've had to walk a bike home several miles but not now! Pros: Small Cons: None Would Buy Again: Yes Would Recommend: Yes Reviewed on: February 26, 2013 Reviewed by: Chris M., Indiana Was this review Helpful? Yes No Report as Inappropriate
one tank one road tire works very well, but the 16grs size in not sufficient for two tires, Pros: size, quckly inflation of one road tire Cons: only one Would Buy Again: Yes Would Recommend: Yes Reviewed on: January 23, 2013 Reviewed by: Mario C., California Was this review Helpful? Refills to keep you going. Reliable refills that work with most threaded inflators. The price is reasonable and they fill you up. Used cartridges are recyclable. Pros: Decent price, always work Cons: get cold with use- normal for all uninsulated cartidges Would Buy Again: Yes Would Recommend: Yes Reviewed on: November 14, 2012 Reviewed by: Josh K., Washington Was this review Helpful? Does the job. Never had a problem using GI stuff. Always there to blast your spare up to get me home to mama. Pros: Consistency. Cons: Price? The only way to fill a tire! Although 16grams is a little short of filling a tire to 40+ PSI. Pros: Easy to change/fill a tire with air. Cons: Not quite big enough canister for 26" tires to get to 40+PSI. Would Buy Again: Yes Would Recommend: Yes Reviewed on: September 19, 2012 Reviewed by: Hoover W., Utah Was this review Helpful? I've noticed a relatively high failure rate for the CO2 systems that I have been using for the last several years, and have gradually been using enough to have an opinion on which cartridges have lower failure rates, and whether the cause has more to do with the inflator or the age of the cartridge.
These, since I started informally keeping track, seem to work better than most, so I am continuing to use them. Pros: Pretty dependable. Available at almost any bike shop for emergency refills (though usually much much more expensive than here). Cons: I still have a high enough failure rate with CO2's that I feel more comfortable riding any length of time with a pump as well. But there is nothing so satisfying as when a CO2 works really well -- inflating your sagging tire in a fraction of a second with a huge blast of air. genuine CO2 i trust only genine innovation CO2. these guys have been making CO2, for as long as i can remember. I like to be able to choose from all the different sizes Pros: price and size choice Cons: none Would Buy Again: Yes Would Recommend: Yes Reviewed on: January 20, 2012 Reviewed by: Kyle R., Texas Was this review Helpful? I suggest threaded. Genuine Innovations has some guidelines on their site that shows what size tire and pressure you will get for the various cartridges. I find the 12g cartridge is adequate to get me home / finish the ride with a 700x23 tire.
You can still goof a threaded cartridge, but they are easier to use than non-threaded.
If you have good flat protection I would suggest cartridges. If you get flats often, I would recommend a micro pump. Pros: lightweight Cons: can be wasted Would Buy Again: Yes Would Recommend: Yes Reviewed on: September 19, 2011 Reviewed by: Colin L., Kansas Was this review Helpful? Yes No Report as Inappropriate
