Show stopper Use this rotor with Avid BB7 brakes. Works very well and costs a few dollars less than the Clean Sweeps. Mine mounted up true. Stopping seems the same as with the other Avid rotors compatible with the BB7s. About the same squeal as a Clean Sweep. Pros: true mounting, costs less than equivalent Avid rotors Cons: Doesn't stop any better than any other rotor I've used with the BB7 ( no worse either) Would Buy Again: Yes Would Recommend: Yes Reviewed on: April 22, 2013 Reviewed by: Josh K., Washington Was this review Helpful? avid rotors 180 mm bought these to upgrade from 160 to 180 on my tallboy. six inch rotors are for weight weenies only these days. braking power now acceptable. Pros: light looking, lots of drilling, seems to cool faster. Cons: less surface area means you squeeze more for the same effect Would Buy Again: No Would Recommend: Yes Reviewed on: March 11, 2013 Reviewed by: william b., Colorado Was this review Helpful? Perfect for Avid Brake system These rotors were purchased for a new front a SURLY FAT TIRE wheel and after setting them up and centering them they have provided no issues and brake well.
Pros: Easy installation and good braking Cons: none Would Buy Again: Yes Would Recommend: Yes Reviewed on: December 27, 2012 Reviewed by: Paul M., Minnesota Was this review Helpful? Yes No Report as Inappropriate
They are noisy but they stop you. A lot of the trails have long steep down hills so I get them pretty hot sometimes. They are very discolored but have resisted warping. They are noisy but it doesn't bother me. Pros: Good price, durable and they stop. Cons: None Would Buy Again: Yes Would Recommend: Yes Reviewed on: November 02, 2012 Reviewed by: David H. These rotors worked really well the first 2 months that I had them, but since then they have turned into turkey callers. I have to sand and clean them once a month to keep the noise down. Pros: keep brakes cool Cons: sound like a turkey call on long downhill runs Would Buy Again: Yes Would Recommend: Yes Reviewed on: October 10, 2012 Reviewed by: Pedro m., California Was this review Helpful? Upgraded the 160mm Rotor with this 180mm rotor. It works well and did increase stopping power a bit. I dont "overheat" my brakes anymore after putting 180's on front and back. 160 Rotor Feels great on the back of the bike with a 203 up front. Running with Shimano SLX and metal pads this rotor offers good weight to performance.
