On rear facing horizontal dropouts it helps to use two tensioners to dial in belt tension and wheel alignment; it is not possible to do that with standard no-turn washers
These replace the anti-rotation washers required for Shimano internally geared hubs
The black piece in the photo is steel and has a through hole that captures and stabilizes the axle under torque
