Works well, though a bit messy Does the job its supposed to and is quite a bit cheaper than the wheel smith alternative. I do recumbent applying it over a towel or something as it is quite messy until it dries. Pros: Cheap, works well Cons: messy Would Buy Again: Yes Would Recommend: Yes Reviewed on: June 16, 2013 Reviewed by: Porter F., Oregon Was this review Helpful? Yes No Report as Inappropriate
This works really well. I don't see why you would pay more for Wheelsmith when this works just as well. Has enough for a more than few wheelbuilds. Pros: Cheap, works Cons: kinda smells weird Would Buy Again: Yes Would Recommend: Yes Reviewed on: May 31, 2013 Reviewed by: ZB Was this review Helpful? Yes No Report as Inappropriate
Not entirely happy, I thought it dried too early and went a bit dry/hard after setting up. A few spokes didn't move well afterwards even though a fair amount of cream was put on.
Either I was expecting more than is good for nipple lubrication, or the manufacturer does have a grasp on what is ideal. Cons: Quite dry Would Buy Again: No Would Recommend: No Reviewed on: June 17, 2012 Reviewed by: Wesley W., Washington Was this review Helpful? Yes No Report as Inappropriate
Good Stuff Went with this cause I'm a cheapo, but it seems like good stuff. I am only making one wheelset in the near future, so there was enough. If you plan on making a few, then I'd go with wheelsmith. The product is a liquid that drys as a wax, it holds the spokes well and results in easy, but firm, nipple adjustment.

First off, this isn't a 'thread locker' like the Locktite products are. Think of it more as a 'thread gripper'. It's a very thin substance, and when you first use it you will think that it's not working, it provides a nice level of lubrication to help you bring the wheel up to tension.
I tested this by putting some on a spoke running it onto a nipple, and letting it sit for a week. At the end of the week I could still turn the nipple, but it did't "SPIN" the way it would have without the nipple cream. I could feel definite resistance, but not enough that I would have trouble if I had to adjust the spoke. I have every confidence that it will do what it is designed to do, to keep a nipple from working loose without making it difficult to adjust if required in the future.
Only reason I'm giving it 4 stars rather than 5 right now is that I don't have any long term experience with it. I'll revisit this review in a few months with a follow up.
