Solid construction, reasonable price. If this matches your measurements, really no reason to go for something else. Unless you want to pay five times more for fancy carbon. I don't. Solid fork with good ac length I wanted a bit more length on my fork for my commuter hard tail. This fork gives me a perfect ride and the fork is solid and comfortable to ride. Pros: Good ac length.
Solidly built.
Rides well. Cons: inside diameter of steerer tube was slightly bigger than normal, making fitting a star nut a bit more difficult. Would Buy Again: Yes Would Recommend: Yes Reviewed on: January 25, 2012 Reviewed by: Mark K., Texas Was this review Helpful? Yes No Report as Inappropriate
Surly 1X1 rigid fork I built a commuter bike with this fork, and so far put about 1500 miles on the bike. The fork sets high like a four inch traveled fork. You can run a 29er wheel or 26er. This fork is stiff which I love. This is a good fork for the money. Pros: Price, versatility, and color Cons: when you wash the fork rust will come out of the moisture holes on the bottom of the fork. This replaced the heavy, bouncy suspension fork on my commuting/trekking bike. I just wish I had done this some time ago.
Quality is great, the finish seems very durable. Would Buy Again: Yes Would Recommend: Yes Reviewed on: September 17, 2011 Reviewed by: Alex, Oregon Was this review Helpful? Yes No Report as Inappropriate
Bought this for an E-bike conversion of an old hardtail for commuting. It has been great, super solid, looks good, and no issues at all. Would Buy Again: Yes Would Recommend: Yes Reviewed on: September 01, 2011 Reviewed by: Chris L., Utah Was this review Helpful? Yes No Report as Inappropriate
Nice affordable rigid fork After looking around for a couple months I decided on this Surly fork. It is noted for being suspension corrected but I still think it is a slight bit short. That can be solved by adding headset spacers on top so your stem will set higher. I used this fork on my first SS build-up. It's not the lightest fork but really strong. If you are looking for an affordable simple rigid fork with both brake options this is a solid choice in my book. Pros: Both brake options, well priced. Cons: A bit heavy for a simple rigid fork Would Buy Again: Yes Would Recommend: Yes Reviewed on: August 19, 2011 Reviewed by: Chris M., Indiana Was this review Helpful? Yes No Report as Inappropriate
Great Rigid Fork Installed easy. It takes a wide tire if you want. I like the option of using disc or v brakes. I used it to lighten up my bike while retaining strength, (I need to lighten up too). I ride mostly pavement and gravel. Wish it came in more colors. LBS had another color, but prices were higher. Pros: Strong, light (compared to suspension) Cons: Could be lighter, just black Would Buy Again: Yes Would Recommend: Yes Reviewed on: July 14, 2011 Reviewed by: Jeremy M., Texas Was this review Helpful? Strong, basic fork This is a simple, strong, basic fork with Surly quality. I only wish it had rack mount braze-ons. But even with the addition of $20 Ortlieb clamp set this fork was still less expensive than others.
It's made of CroMoly steel which, as opposed to aluminum, should provide some vibration damping.
I have the curved version with disc mounts. I use it with my touring/trekking bike. The front rack (MEC) is attached to the brake bosses on the top and secured to the legs with Ortlieb clamps.
The bike rides well even with front panniers loaded. The finish is nice and durable. Pros: Price.
Curved.
CroMoly.
Lomg steerer tube.
Fender braze-ons.
Takes 203mm disc rotors. Cons: No rack mount braze-ons. Would Buy Again: Yes Would Recommend: Yes Reviewed on: July 02, 2011 Reviewed by: Adam D., New York Was this review Helpful? Yes No Report as Inappropriate
Simple as Simple Does A great way to simplify a bikes front end. Suspension forks are heavy, need maintenance and are pricey. Especially on a daily commuter. I threw this on my commuter and am very pleased I did. Despite it's all cromoly steel construction, it lightened up the front end as well as lowered the A-C length that sharpened steering.
It has tons of room between the fork legs for really fat tires. Being steel, it provides pretty decent damping on mild terrain. Ride ol skool! ride rigid! Pros: -simple
-tons of tire clearance
-cheap
-lighter than suspension forks Cons: -not much bling to speak of

Good quality fork, will take the abuse and dampen some of the chatter. Would be nice to see a disc specific version and save some weight. Reviewed on: November 02, 2010 Reviewed by: Daniel M., Rhode Island Was this review Helpful? Yes No Report as Inappropriate
A versatile fork! Super strong cromoly construction. I have used it with discs and with v-brakes with excellent results either way. Plenty of tire clearance as well. Pros: Strong. Versatile. Great tire clearance. Cons: Not light. Would Buy Again: Yes Would Recommend: Yes Reviewed on: October 03, 2010 Reviewed by: Noel B., Oregon Was this review Helpful? Yes No Report as Inappropriate
Great Basic Fork Picked up this fork for a project involving a spare frame and some wheels I had laying around. Obviously, there is nothing fancy about this fork but it's perfect for a commuter bike. Pros: Simple, inexpensive, indestructible. Cons: heavy. Would Buy Again: Yes Reviewed on: October 01, 2010 Reviewed by: James A., Virginia Was this review Helpful? Yes No Report as Inappropriate

Great no-frills fork It's strong, handles well, and it's black. Great replacement for any MTB suspension fork. Pros: Disc and cantilever mounts Cons: Cantilever bosses screw out, but can be very difficult to remove Would Buy Again: Yes Would Recommend: Yes Reviewed on: September 15, 2010 Reviewed by: Matthew W., Oregon Was this review Helpful? Nice fork. Nice price. I bought this because I was having trouble with my shock and couldn't afford a new shock. I rode it for year and was surprised to find out how nice it is to ride a rigid fork again. This is a great fork for a nice price. It would be better if they offered a disc only option with the newer style post mounts. Pros: price, function Cons: disc mounts, weight Would Buy Again: Yes Would Recommend: Yes Reviewed on: September 12, 2010 Reviewed by: Matthew B., Oregon Was this review Helpful? Bullet Proof Great swap out fork to replace your suspension boat anchor. Don't get me wrong, this fork is on the hefty side but it's one of those "Just try and bend me" forks. Tough as nails. Pros: >Seriously over engineered durability
>Decent price Cons: >Minor, but I'd like to see one with a slightly shorter A2C. Still gets a 5/5 though. Would Buy Again: Yes Would Recommend: Yes Reviewed on: September 01, 2010 Reviewed by: danfinger, SFCA Was this review Helpful? Yes No Report as Inappropriate
