Best Ergon grips Yet!!!
These grips are the one thing I most need if I were to switch bikes. I have become accustomed to just using them them and traditional grips just feel completely harsh now. The rubber side grips is a huge improvement over previous models and the side bars are the perfect size.
Pros: Comfort, feel, and control
Cons: Heavier than traditional and costly.

Yes No Report as InappropriateAwesome grips for endurance racing
I upgraded to Ergon grips two years ago and have been very happy. I ride singlespeed, so I need a grip that isn't too squishy, which would rob me of power on the climbs, and yet still doesn't beat up my hands.
The GE-1 (no wings) grips have been my grip of choice for shorter rides 1-2 hours. But after getting into endurance racing my hands starting suffering a little on the longer rides.
So I picked up the GS2 grips, and was pretty happy. Their construction is fantastic, and the bar ends are perfect -- they provide three additional hand positions for me, which is great for changing up the stress on not only my hands, but also my wrists and my arms.
The wings have done the trick for eliminating the strain on long rides too.
The one weakness I found was that they were a little too small diameter for my XL hands -- when I am mashing uphill I need a good fistful of grip. This probably isn't a factor for a geared rider.
I fixed this by getting the Ergon GR2. They have the same sweet bar-ends, with a little fuller main section, including a larger bulge in the front middle.
Pros: Light, strong, and feel great in your hand.
Four great stress-relieving hand positions.
Bar ends provide nice leverage, and inward curve seems to be perfect for bouncing off trees rather than catching them.
Cons: Diameter is a little too narrow for XL size hands that want a fistful of grip for mashing up hills. Fixed by switching to GR2 grips that have a little more diameter and a well-placed bulge.

Yes No Report as Inappropriateunbelievable difference for endurance rides/races
Just picked up a pair of these to replace some ESI foam grips as I needed something more supportive on longer rides. Have to say I'll never use another grip again. The GS2 is a perfect comprmise between the small/racier GX and the normal ergons. Small enough to not get in the way on technical terrain but supportive enough for long miles. The textured bar ends are a good length as well. Believe the hype around Ergons. They really do make a difference in comfort and your ability to put in the miles over rough ground.
Pros: supportive, grippy bar ends
Cons: weight (but the comfort is totally worth it)
