Solid tool that is worth the money, especially if you don't currently have any proper lockring tool. Not as comfortable as something a coated handle like the BBT-7 but not so thin that it hurts to use (or that it bends). Long enough for all the leverage you will usually need unless something it really frozen. Hanger hole is nice for pegboards. I bought this to use on the lock ring of a White Industries ENO crankset (as recommended by WI). The tool is well made, but it was no use for undoing that lock ring. That lock ring is a pretty awful design and it ain't the tool's fault. If any one else is considering it for that purpose, I would recommend getting the proper WI lock ring tool. Gets the job done It's a little finicky to keep in line with BB lockrings which proves troublesome when they're really tight. Otherwise, it provides plenty of leverage and has a little play to accomodate build tolerances of different brands Would Buy Again: No Would Recommend: Yes Reviewed on: June 01, 2011 Reviewed by: James Z., Michigan Was this review Helpful? park bb spanner Works great for old bbs. It does work for fixed cog lock rings, but the radius of the spanner doesn't perfectly spoon the radius of the lock ring. It works in a pinch. Pros: Good leverage. Looks pretty. Will probably outlast me. Cons: Doesn't quite fit in a cheater bar for us weaklings. This lockring wrench is great, and has many applications, perhaps more than those for which it was originally intended. I originally bought it so I could service the old loose bearing bottom brackets on my 1980's road bikes, but I also found it useful for tightening down on the lockrings for my fixed gear cogs. And also it's size allows for a nice amount of leverage, allowing you to really crank down -- or undo -- those bike parts that really need some extra elbow grease. Pros: Versatile, nice size that allows for some substantial leverage. Cons: It's large, clunky size makes it hard to travel with, so it shouldn't be a part of your mobile tool kit. Also you have to be careful when using it, as the metal might dig into your skin if you push TOO hard. Works as advertised, enough said. However doesn't quite do the trick for track lock rings. Would Recommend: Yes Reviewed on: September 27, 2010 Reviewed by: Matt, Wisconsin Was this review Helpful? Yes No Report as Inappropriate

Needed this tool to take a Stronglight BB out of a 38 year old frame.
I now use it on my 26 year old Campy BB. Pros: Tough. Cons: none Would Buy Again: Yes Would Recommend: Yes Reviewed on: September 15, 2010 Reviewed by: Patrick B., Oregon Was this review Helpful? Yes No Report as Inappropriate
Park BB spanner HCW-5 Great tool, hard to substitute, just buy it. Correct tool for the job.. don't mark parts, waste time, or get stuck undoing a BB. These aren't that expensive! Pros: Shop quality. This tool is a life saver. If you've ever tried getting by without such a tool, which can be done, you'll be glad to put those days behind you. I've put some incredible torque onto mine and it didn't break, so that's all I can ask.
