Set up 2x10 system on new bike. SRAM crankset and Shimano derailleurs. Chain works well with system. Pros: Works! lightweight. Cons: Read directions to install powerlock connector. Only one time use. Does not install like quick link. Would Buy Again: Yes Would Recommend: Yes Reviewed on: December 27, 2012 Reviewed by: Rick, Oregon Was this review Helpful? Yes No Report as Inappropriate
I have used many chains and I always have great luck with Sram chains. Pros: Light weight.
Shifts very smooth Cons: price Would Buy Again: Yes Would Recommend: Yes Reviewed on: January 18, 2012 Reviewed by: James H., Washington Was this review Helpful? Yes No Report as Inappropriate
I've been happy with the shifting and longevity of this chain on my SRAM Red/Rival drivetrain, though I have to admit that haven't compared it with any others on that set up. It's nice and light too. Is it worth the extra bucks? Hmmm... Pros: Good shifting, lasted me long enough, light Cons: Expensive Would Buy Again: Yes Would Recommend: Yes Reviewed on: October 05, 2011 Reviewed by: Patrick, Australia Was this review Helpful? A very good chain though a bit expensive. I gave this chain a try with my DA 7900 drivetrain because I like the idea of the quick link. It works well but on the Shimano drivetrain it does not work as well as the Shimano's newest DA 7901 chain. That chain produces perfect shifts with the DA 7900 drivetrain. I have not used the Sram PC-1091R on a Sram drivetrain. Pros: Light weight, strong, quick link system. Cons: Expensive, quick link only good once, but replacements are available. always been sram fan and this chain says why, super strong, and quiet, just a little lighter than the other models. Pros: super quiet, little lighter, super strong Cons: none Would Buy Again: Yes Would Recommend: Yes Reviewed on: April 03, 2011 Reviewed by: Ricky P., Oklahoma Was this review Helpful? 1091r Hollow Pin Chamfered Chain Very silent, shifts better than the 1091 chain I was using ,previously. It is much lighter as well since it is using the new hollow pin technology Pros: Lightweight, silent, shifts well Cons: Expensive.
