Smooth feel, nice integration and reach adjustability with XT Brakes useing I-spec. I like the push/pull downshift lever and the 2 or 3 shift option for the front. The overall look is a bit clunky compared to sram but works well. Pros: Good feel and adjustabiliy Cons: Looks a bit "plasticy" Would Buy Again: Yes Would Recommend: Yes Reviewed on: February 10, 2013 Reviewed by: Tom A., Washington Was this review Helpful? Love 'em I was so feed up with killing cables SRAM X.O. shifters that I wanted a clean break from SRAM, and was willing to give Shimano a shot. I picked up these because I was looking for something to mount cleanly to my XT brakes. I've had to change cables once, and it was far
These shift well enough for me-- they are matched up to an XTR RD, so there really is no reason to not shift well. Its been a good enough experience that I would like to equip my hardtail with Shimano as well.
Pros: ISPEC means clean mounts.
shifts well
love the cable mounts vs my old sram shifters Cons: No complaints! Would Buy Again: Yes Would Recommend: Yes Reviewed on: January 19, 2013 Reviewed by: Nick S., Washington Was this review Helpful? Yes No Report as Inappropriate
ispec review Got a pair of the ispec shifters, to mount into the Shimano BR-M785 brakes I have. It's a clean and minimal in the cockpit. Be wary of adjustability of the shift levers. It can only be moved left and right, and people with smaller hands may have a harder time reaching the levers with the outermost setting of the ispec levers. ispec also means no gear indicator support Pros: ispec provides a clean and minilistic cockpit Cons: Limited adjustability with ispec shifters. First set of Shimano shifters. Have only tried Sram in the past. They feel solid. Being able to remove the dials is a plus (keep your eyes on the trail at all times) Pros: Solid build Cons: None Would Buy Again: Yes Would Recommend: Yes Reviewed on: November 26, 2011 Reviewed by: Daniel M., Rhode Island Was this review Helpful?
