Perform well and are durable This is my third set of Crank Brother Eggbeaters. They have made some design improvements (needle bearings for one) and I have found it more durable. I have had this set for a year and have not had to re-build or even lube it yet. Of course, the cleat insertion and removal is buttery-smooth like always. Great pedal. Pros: Design improvements
Easy to get cleats in and out
Performs great in the mud Cons: No adjustability in the pedal Would Buy Again: Yes Would Recommend: Yes Reviewed on: October 14, 2012 Reviewed by: Ron C., Oregon Was this review Helpful? Yes No Report as Inappropriate
Two bearings, NO BUSHINGS! A nice step up from the less expensive models that have a bushing. I've had two of the bushing model ones fail now. I am looking forward to much longer live with inboard and outboard bearings Pros: Easy to get in and out of. Nice amount of float to avoid knee injuries. This model has all bearings, no bushings Would Buy Again: Yes Would Recommend: Yes Reviewed on: February 24, 2012 Reviewed by: Daniel P., Washington Was this review Helpful? No bushings ! New design removes bushings (19th century tech). Runs smoothly, color options add a bit of bling albeit you cannot see when clipped in Pros: 2 bearings instead of 1 bearing / 1 bushing. Ease of use, CB typically has great customer service. Cons: None yet. Would Buy Again: Yes Would Recommend: Yes Reviewed on: August 05, 2011 Reviewed by: cam o., Alberta Was this review Helpful? Incredible mud clearing. An essential item for my cross bike. Many riders were unable to get into their pedals at the Rainier Cross Crusade race this year, due to a super sticky peanut butter mud mixture. It was a non-issue with these. Pros: Mud clearing, ease of entry. Cons: None Would Buy Again: Yes Would Recommend: Yes Reviewed on: November 16, 2010 Reviewed by: Jeff Was this review Helpful? Yes No Report as Inappropriate
Fancy minimalist pedal. Having used both crank brothers acid and candy pedals, I needed another pair and opted to try the famous eggbeaters. I regret this. I don't get a good platform stability feeling. It feels like there is too much motion allowed tiltling my legs left and right when clipped in, which sort of makes sense, since there is no platform. They are easier to get into and out of than the acids or candys, but I still prefer the platform. Pros: Easy entry and exit, clears mud exceptionally well, slick looking, light weight. Cons: No platform stability feeling. Would Buy Again: No Would Recommend: Yes Reviewed on: October 24, 2010 Reviewed by: Nathan G., California Was this review Helpful? Yes No Report as Inappropriate
Seems like Crank Bros have solved some of the problems with the old bushings with these new pedals that have needle bearings instead. Been riding them for a while on road, cyclocross, and mountain - no complaints. Pros: easy entry/exit
great mud performance Cons: none yet Would Buy Again: Yes Would Recommend: Yes Reviewed on: September 16, 2010 Reviewed by: chris k., Washington Was this review Helpful? Yes No Report as Inappropriate
