Must have for NW winter road training
The winters suck here in the NW. The rain brings all sorts of debris onto the roads, and it's not uncommon to get more than one flat during long base mile rides.
This winter I went with 700 x 25 Schwalbe Durano DD tires with a pair of Mr. Tuffys and haven't flatted at all throughout the 12 to 18 hour build weeks from January on.
Your wheel set will no doubt be heavier as a result, but in my opinion, I'd much rather keep rolling on a heavier wheel than trying to change a flat 3 hours into a 5 hour ride when it's 40 degrees and dumping rain. Especially if I can't feel my hands...
So go for it! Nobody will even know that you're sporting a super fred tire liner, and you can plow on through the terrible weather unencumbered. Priceless.
Pros: Helps to prevent flats due to rocks and small road debris
One time installation into your tires
Reuseable
Cheap peace of mind
Cons: Won't prevent nails and other large debris from penetrating the inner tube
Adds weight (but hey, we're training)

Yes No Report as InappropriateCommuting? You need them
I have tried all the puncture resistant tires, but Mr Tuffy's are the only thing that has prevented me from getting flats. I ride with them in commutes, training rides, and even some triathlons on rough roads. Yes, it adds weight, but I do not find it that noticeable.
Pros: Stop getting flats
Cons: Takes a little work to position properly in the tire
Adds rotational weight

Yes No Report as InappropriateGreat tire liners! Living in an area with puncture vine will cause many a frustrations unless you get these. Been using the regular versions for years. This lightweight version is awesome! So far they seem to be as good as my old heavy versions. The decreased weight is very welcome.
Pros: prevents flats, much lighter than the original version.
