What choice do we have?
If you have a Gates-Drive bike, you gotta go with OEM.
Pros: Lightweight alloy, exact fit and trouble-free operation.
Cons: Pricey since there's only one manufacturer.

Yes No Report as InappropriateAfline Rear Cog - Excellent
I don't work on bikes, I ride them. So when I brought my bike in to get it's belt conversion, the shop put it on backwards as the print shows on that side (the view in the UC catalog shows the inboard side). I notice on my first test ride as the belt would wander inboard.
Other that, the unit performs very well. I can't be happier with the system. I'm hoping the new Gates Center Track units come out in the UC catalog soon.
Pros: Quiet, no mainteance, no grease, cool bike factor.
Cons: Your LBS needs to be familar with the Gates system and its installation. They'll need the tools which I purchased here.
Not a con per se but standing on your pedals going up hill in the wrong gear made my belt slide (maybe even jump?) outboard. A chain would have skipped I think. It happened once in the 500 miles I've rode the bike since I converted the frame to a belt.
