Quality shifters at a right price
These are very reliable and shift accurately. They're all plastic on the outside but that doesn't seem to be a problem. They don't have the feel of XT shifters but work just as well.
Cable installation and periodic maintenance are also easy.
I wish they had removable indicators to save some space.
The included cable is short and lacks housing. I wish Shimano just sopped including the cable and lowered the price a few bucks instead.
Pros: Reliable.
Index well.
Quick, effortless shifting.
Cons: Included cable is useless.
Indicator is not removable.

Yes No Report as InappropriateI upgraded to these after using some Alivio shifters on my bike for 2 years. They feel a lot sturdier and have crisp shifts. The only problem I had was they didnt come with enough cable housing for my bike so I had to go buy some.
Pros: Sturdy
Consistent shifting
Cons: doesn't come with enough cable housing

I bought these as an emergency purchase and I'm very impressed with them. Hassle-free installation and click through gears with no problems.
Pros: East installation
They WORK. Plain and simple.
Cons: Weight? Of course, when comparing to shifters twice the price, however.
