Already one of the most popular and winning helmets on both the road and mountain bike circuits, the Sweep gets even better for 2010 with an upgrade to Bell's all-new Twin Axis Gear (TAG) fit system. With 20 functional vents actively channeling airflow over the head and out the rear, a feathery curb weight and a bevy of top-level features, it's easy to see why the Sweep is a racer favorite. Stout construction with the Fusion In-Mold Microshell and bottom wrap along with an internal reinforcing skeleton make the Sweep strong yet svelte. Dialed race graphics and a removable VPV visor complete the package.

I owned a 2007 Bell Sweep that sustained a crack in the rear plastic retainer when left outside for 2 hours this winter (~30-35 degree weather). I tried on all the makes/models, and I still came back to this one because of fit. Price wasn't bad, but it was mostly fit. I will be sure to not leave it outside when I lock up during the winter.
Pros: Great fit.
Cons: Cracks in the cold.

Yes No Report as InappropriateVery Nice Lid.
I am so glad I found the Bell Sweep.
I had previously been suffering the hot, sweaty fate of the skate-lid-wearer for many years. Now it is difficult for me to even put on a skate-lid! It doesn't feel like it fits right anymore, even though I used to think it fit perfectly. That's how good the Bell Sweep fits me. Nothing else will do.
I'd had a Giro Xen, and wore that on super hot trail days, but it never felt %100 right. It also looked awkward and wide on my head. It also broke from a crash.
So I kept wearing my skate-lids until I could take it no longer. I had a long, hot charity ride coming up in Napa and was not going to have my head soaking the whole time. I'd tried on a Bell or two in a couple shops and then found the Sweep in my size and preferred color on UC, made the order and the next week I had my lid.
The fit system is super easy and secure, the ventilation is great at high speed and low speed, and the shape is low profile enough that now no matter what bike I take out, hardtail, roadie, track, cross, I always wear my Sweep. It looks and feels just right. Highly recommended.
Pros: Great fit and comfort.
Pretty light.
Well ventilated.
Low profile shape.
Cons: You may forget you're wearing it.
Not cheap.
