Portland Design Works Metal Lock On Grips

Better then I expected

These grips are great. I wasn't sure what to expect when I orderd them. I just thought they looked cool. But aside from the looks they are a perfect fit for my hand.

Pros: looks, lock on, nice and thick.

Cons: price

Not necessarily for epic rides -- the ergonomics are good, but basic. That being said, for the three or four hour XC ride, they work great.

Pros: Comfortable, good looking. Lock on less fragile than some.

Cons: none

Not bad.

So, I have pretty small hands. I normally use the ODI ruffian grips. I would say these are good for a medium sized hand person. Note, that you need to torque the screws tighter than you would on the ODI grips. This is because the grip insert is clamped to the bar along with the clamp. Plastic against the bar has a little less friction. Nice design though as they won't develop the small amount of play that the ODI grips get as they age. Also, the allen wrench you use to tighten the clamp is larger which is nice. They are just too big for my hands.

Pros: Look good. And are grippy. They won't get loose like the ODI grips when they get older.

Cons: The only thing I can think of is that they don't tell you to screw them on tighter than you would with other clamp on grips.

used these on my mountain bike for a short time. i did not like the feel of the grip, seemed to be good quality, not very good bump absorption, probally a litte better with padded gloves. i went back to odi rougue grips

Pros: look great, good quality, replaceable cores

Cons: did not have a good feel, did not like the clamping system

PDW lockon grips.

Good looking grips. weight is a little high but not bad. They are too hard in my opinion for MTB riding or extended rides.

Pros: Looks, replaceable rubber.

Cons: Too hard. hurts wrist on long rides.

These are awsome, you get a noticable differnece in contact and you can use your thumb to throw the bars around, inovation in grip design - the palm section could be a little wider

Pros: new idea for grips, noticable improvement in control and comfort

Cons: could be a little wider
