I used this on my carbon handlebars and aluminum stem. Plenty of product for this application. Everything i have read says to use carbon paste between carbon and aluminum parts - so here you go.

Essential...

If you have any parts made from Carbon. This compound is a "must have". Prevents carbon components from slipping and stops creaking too. Great on seat posts, handle bars on stems and carbon seat collars too. Love the small packet too, as you dont need much of it.

I use it on handle bars, clamp-on grips, brake and shifter levers (you can leave them looser so they will move in a crash) and seat posts, even non-carbon, it helps stop squeaks. stays pliable and easy to remove.

Pros: Increase friction and mitigates squeaks.

Cons: Tube would be better than blister pack.

Used to install Syntace vector handlebars onto a thompson stem. Was able to tighten stem down enough without over-torquing. Wiped excess away easily

Pros: Able to tighten stem down without over-torquing

Cons: one time use pack. May buy a larger size for multiple applications if needed

Ritchey Liquid Torque

ritchey liquid torque, works just like it says, it takes less torque for your carbon bits by providing a just a bit of friction between the two, whether if its steel alum or carbon. This is the stuff to use between them, not grease.

Pros: wips clean from surfaces, great like it says

Cons: none

Don't Mount Carbon Without It!

The alternative to using this stuff (or something like it) is either wrenching the hell out of your carbon components (and likely destroying them) or risking slippage - which could be pretty exciting at the wrong time and place.

Pros: Holds components without excessive torque

Cons: None

Seems to work well. A little goes a long way.

Pros: Allows less torque on critical carbon components. A little goes a long way. I still have plenty left.

Cons: Need better container for storage. I punched a little hole in the edge of the bag and hung it up on a hook.
