Looks better than any other bash guard on the market. It's light, tuff, and doesn't cost too much. Would Buy Again: Yes Would Recommend: Yes Reviewed on: March 04, 2013 Reviewed by: Brandon P., Oregon Was this review Helpful? Yes No Report as Inappropriate
Great bash! Very light, tough and long lasting bash. Nicer appearance than other bash rings. Has taken big impacts to no fail. Pros: Light, affordable yet blingy and durable bash. Cons: Dirt can trap in spaces as other person mentioned. Requires longer bolts when using with a slightly thicker ring due to thickness of bash. One of the lightest and strongest bash guards out there! Pros: Looks great, strong, plastic so glides over logs and rocks better than aluminum. Works with most cranks. Cons: Small holes in them can get clogged with mud/hard to clean but no big deal. A bit pricey. Light weight, heavy duty bashes real good like. Pros: Light weight very strong Cons: It's been putting the hurt on the local rocks. Would Buy Again: Yes Would Recommend: Yes Reviewed on: June 14, 2012 Reviewed by: alex r., Texas Was this review Helpful? Yes No Report as Inappropriate
AMAZING! This is the bash guard is awesome! I mounted it to my XTR crankset with the included bolts and it looks bad ass. Not only does it look great but it’s super tough and much quieter than the aluminum bash guard I had previous. No more clank, clank, clank on my descents. Highly recommend.
Just make sure you use the proper chain lubes with this guard. You can find out more about it on e13’s website.
Get one! Pros: Tough, quite, looks great. Comes with mounting bolts. Cons: You have to use a specific chain lubes Would Buy Again: Yes Would Recommend: Yes Reviewed on: May 18, 2012 Reviewed by: TD DT, California Was this review Helpful? Yes No Report as Inappropriate
Bought this since I switched from a 3x9 XC setup to a 2x9 AM setup and it works! Has protected my bike's (Ibis Mojo) chainrings from various rocks and logs in the trails here in SoCal. Pros: lightweight and easy to install Cons: a bit pricey compared to other similar products Would Buy Again: Yes Would Recommend: Yes Reviewed on: September 26, 2011 Reviewed by: Arnel, California Was this review Helpful? I've been using E-Thirteen products from back in the day when they were known as "Evil" components. Bashguards are great for saving your chainring when you are going through rocky/ledgy areas or rolling over logs. That's no secret. However, they are often heavy and sometimes less than aesthetically pleasing.
This one is super light and extremely strong. Chances are you'll get tired of it before you have to retire it. Pros: Very light. Will last for years. Cons: Not the cheapest bashguard around. The BEST light bashguard. Who uses their big ring anymore? Swap it out for a 1x or 2x system up front and throw one of these on in its place.
Light weight, and protects the rest of your rings!
Been running these on all my bikes for the past 6 years now. Pros: Super Lightweight. Super Strong! Professionally Made. Cons: A little pricey. Not a fan of the gold accents on the logo (newer version than the picture) Would Buy Again: Yes Would Recommend: Yes Reviewed on: June 13, 2011 Reviewed by: el scotto, PDX Was this review Helpful? E13 Turbocharger bash guard Bought this bashguard for my new rig, technically its supposed to work with the standard crankbolts, no extra mounting hardware. Not the case with the new SRAM X9 group. Turns out the std bolts/barrels are too short and the 15mm aftermarket bolts/barrels are too long and the spacer doesn't fit. Spent two days looking at options and finally came upon a small O-ring that fit inside of the mounting hole and over the barrel. Pros: Light, good looking design. Cons: Problematic with SRAM X-9/Truvativ grouping. No option to purchase smaller spacers or shorter bolts/barrels. Bought to replace my old e-13 turbo charger. Massive weight savings for this particular part. I was shocked at how much the old one weighed Pros: bolted right up with no issues. Looks great and will do the job Cons: Zero cons Would Buy Again: Yes Would Recommend: Yes Reviewed on: February 04, 2011 Reviewed by: John , Oregon Was this review Helpful? Excellent bashguard It does everything it's supposed to - mounts easily, doesn't weigh a ton and protects the chainring from pretty much anything you can throw at it. Hard not to like that. Pros: Light and protective Cons: Not especially good looking Would Buy Again: Yes Would Recommend: Yes Reviewed on: February 02, 2011 Reviewed by: Kim W., Washington Was this review Helpful? Got this to replace the stock shimano bashguard on my SLX double crankset. The shimano guard weighed a ton compared to this. This one is so much lighter and better looking. Light and cool looking. Bought this bash guard to replace the one I destroyed on my SRS+ chain device.
Not indestructable, but come in at a great low weight. Pros: Keeps the chain on without fail when used with the SRS+.
