Still Stopping.

I bought two. One as a replacement and one as a spare to carry along.
Two years later I'm still lugging the spare around in the pack.
It just keeps stopping and stopping and ...

Pros: Dependable

Cons: none

It's difficult to talk about cables in a meaningful way so...I use these because the are easy to use, set up, and I never have problems. Sometimes a product is great because it doesn't cause any problems.
Love their stuff.

Pros: quality, price

Cons: none

Great for mechanical disc brakes

I was running teflon cables on my BB7s and always had a bit of a mushy response at the lever. I worked on them a lot, then found a couple message board threads talking about how teflon cables can lead to poor brake performance.

I bought these and my brakes really did become more responsive with a cleaner bite.

Pros: Cheap, do the job well.

Cons: They lasted a long time, so maybe nothing.

Can't beat them for the $

Great cable that can't be beat for the money. Stretches a bit, but once it finishes stretching holds its place well.

Pros: -Cheap
-is actually a brake cable
-is quite cheap
-preforms well

Cons: -stretches a bit, which requires additional adjustment

Good, cheap cable

I got these for the kid's bikes, but I wouldn't hesitate to get them for my own bike. They haven't corroded in two years of PNW riding. Because they have no coating on them, they do tend to fray easily during installation. Make sure you wait to cut to length until they are through all the housings, and you won't have a problem.

Pros: Good, inexpensive

Cons: Lack of any coating makes them fray easily during installation

Reliable cables

Put a pair of these on my commuter bike and ridden them over a thousand miles. No complaints. As you should expect from something as basic (and important) as brake cabling. Jagwire has solid products.

Pros: Cheap. Good performance.

Cons: None.

Nice

Fine cables for basic bikes. Good value at the price point.

Pros: Double ended for MTB or road

Cons: nicer cables aren't that much more expensive

Jagwire

I have used Jagwire products for years now. I like the cables the best. Very little stretch = less adjustment on the trail.

Pros: Durable. Set it and forget it.

This is a basic brake cable you purchase because of price. I still cannot figure out the value of the more expensive cables and housing setups. If the cable binds, replace and/or lightly grease the cable and you everything works fine. It is not 100% smooth, but more than adequate for all types of riding.

Pros: The price can't be beat.

Cons: No designer labels.

A good cheap cable that won't make me cry if it starts to corrode a year or two down the line. (But since it's galvanized, I'm not really holding my breath for it to start rusting.)
