Not bad at all. I needed a long cable for a big dummy build and these worked perfectly. Pros: Jagwire quality Cons: Nothing Would Buy Again: Yes Would Recommend: Yes Reviewed on: April 07, 2013 Reviewed by: brandon, Oregon Was this review Helpful? Yes No Report as Inappropriate
Good basic cables that perform well. No need to spend more. Would Buy Again: Yes Would Recommend: Yes Reviewed on: March 23, 2013 Reviewed by: Fred M., Oregon Was this review Helpful? Yes No Report as Inappropriate
These cables are solidly built and have lasted me a good while without needing to be replaced yet. The slickness from the factory is a nice touch. Reviewed on: February 07, 2013 Reviewed by: Tim, Washington Was this review Helpful? Yes No Report as Inappropriate
Doesn't stretch, doesn't get mashed and compressed when installing. I do think I felt a difference when I had the teflon coated cables, at least in the initial time after those were installed. Pros: Solid choice, I prefer Jagwire to other brands. Cons: Not quite as slick as the teflon coated versions. They work I bought new cable and had it installed for both my brakes at Universal Cycles. The cable is housed, so I can't imagine I'll have too many problems with it. Jagwire cables Jagwire to me makes the best cable on the market. I never have problems with them stretching and having to readjust things. Its super solid Pros: price and durability Cons: none Would Buy Again: Yes Would Recommend: Yes Reviewed on: August 22, 2012 Reviewed by: Kyle R., Texas Was this review Helpful? Nice cables at a good price. Much better than galvanized. They are very smooth when also used with Jagwire housing. Would Buy Again: Yes Would Recommend: Yes Reviewed on: April 03, 2012 Reviewed by: Geoff G., Oregon Was this review Helpful? Yes No Report as Inappropriate
Good cables I've used these cables for several years now, and I'm consistently happy with them. I prefer the MTB or road-specific version because the ends are soldered to prevent fraying during installation. smooth action I've installed these on several bikes. The cables really are slick, and the brakes feel smooth and light at the lever. I'm using them with the Jagwire housing. If your levers don't snap back smartly, try these. They will make you smile. Pros: good value Would Buy Again: Yes Would Recommend: Yes Reviewed on: January 22, 2012 Reviewed by: Alex D., Oregon Was this review Helpful? Yes No Report as Inappropriate
Perfect compromise of cost and performance These are a huge step up from galvanized cables and I notice no performance loss over teflon coated cables.
I have never had a jagwire cable break - I tinker long before the cables wear out. I rotate my back cable to the front when I make a change and I still have never outlasted a cable. Pros: High quality
inexpensive Cons: None Would Buy Again: Yes Would Recommend: Yes Reviewed on: January 02, 2012 Reviewed by: Steven S., Oregon Was this review Helpful? Yes No Report as Inappropriate
Nice cables, slide well through the housing. Down sid eis cuting, the ends tend to unravel Cons: unravel when cut Would Buy Again: Yes Would Recommend: Yes Reviewed on: October 16, 2011 Reviewed by: robert p., California Was this review Helpful? Yes No Report as Inappropriate
My go to cables These are my preferred cable. They are a huge step up from galvanized cables and come in the lengths I need for working on recumbents. Teflon cables do not seem to work any better than these especially if you replace these regularly. Pros: Best cable value I have found.
Nice improvement over galvanized cables. Cons: None Would Buy Again: Yes Would Recommend: Yes Reviewed on: September 11, 2011 Reviewed by: Jay, Always moving Was this review Helpful? Yes No Report as Inappropriate
Why spend more? These work fine. You can spend more on fancy sealed systems, but I tinker with my bikes too much to make that a worthwhile investment--if they work any better, which I'm not sure they do. Pros: You pull the lever and it moves the brakes for you. Cons: Might be too short for some large frame/drop bar brake combos (like a Fargo) Would Buy Again: Yes Would Recommend: Yes Reviewed on: September 05, 2011 Reviewed by: Eric D., Ohio Was this review Helpful? nice cables No complaints, they work as they should. Pros: Makes stopping possible. Cons: Nada. Would Buy Again: Yes Would Recommend: Yes Reviewed on: August 03, 2011 Reviewed by: Chris W., California Was this review Helpful? Yes No Report as Inappropriate
Jagwire makes really nice cables, they're quite slick, hold together well after cutting, and are just overall great cables. The price is a bit more than others but brakes really aren't somewhere you should be cutting costs. It's really nice that these come with both road and mountain ends. Pros: well made, both mtn and road ends Cons: Price Would Buy Again: Yes Would Recommend: Yes Reviewed on: March 15, 2011 Reviewed by: Michael G., Virginia Was this review Helpful?
