Annoying that this is not included with all hubs.
I bought this as a back up in case I messed up my original. I had to bend the metal arm that hold the housing stop to clear the chain. It worked so now I just have a spare. Seems like this should come with the hub but it doesn't. Everything is here EXCEPT the cable fixing bolt. That comes with the shifter though so no worries. Everything you need This kit has everything to get the Alfine hub functional on any bike with horizontal or vertical dropouts.
I believe the cable chock (not included in this kit) comes with the hub itself. Pros: Includes everything except the cable chock. Cons: assumes you have the instructions that are included with the hub itself. Seems awfully silly that this doesn't come with the hub. Really, Shimano? Thankfully, it all works well, though it may not include the exact anti-turn washers that you need. Shimano, surely you can figure out a better way around this and just package it with the hub. Come on! Needed for hub to shift This kit comes with hefty capnuts that almost look like they belong on a car. You also get extra non-turn washers that you don't need, but you will most likely get the set you need. You will also need a locknut (that attaches to the cable), a cog, and a Alfine hub. Pros: capnuts look cool, most of the small parts you need. Cons: does not include locknut. Everything works as advertised, however it would be nice if Shimano had included these parts with the hub. Includes anti-rotation washer for the most common drop outs but you'll need to buy washers separately if you're running old school horizontals.
