Got these to try. Jusk OK

These are too sweet for me to use for riding food. And when someone drops one on the trail they act like a big wad of gum when you are the unlucky one who picks it up in your tire tread.

Pros: Good in a pinch?


Cons: Too sweet for me.

I have tried these in the past but never actually used them on a ride. I just completed the High Cascade 24 hr race in Bend. I used these and they worked, I could actually feel the boost they were giving me. They are now staying in my pack.

Good for electrolites

These are nice to chew on for electrolites if you only drink water on your rides.
They even stay individual while in your jersey pocket on hot days.

Gummy Energy

I am not partial to shooting a pack of slimy GU in my mouth, so these are a step up as far as texture goes. Good to pack around and they don't become a mess in the heat. The MT Berry is great as well as the Tropical.

These are a great electrolyte replacement while going UL backcountry. When I start getting tired from going fast, I eat 3 of these and drink out of the backpack reservoir while I keep on going. Good source of quick calories, sodium, and potassium.
Also like to use them while skiing all day in the backcountry.
I think the strawberry tastes great and goes down easy, no unpleasant aftertaste for me.

Just right.....

Always have at lease one pack with me when on the trails. Perfect size and not messy like some other brands. Taste great. My two fav are Mountain Berry and Tropical Punch.

Excellent energy booster

After using these for several years, I never set out for a ride without a pack or two. These give me the carbs I need when my tank needs some fuel, and they are not messy to handle when you are riding. I cut the top open before leaving my house since they are sealed up tight. Every flavor that I have tried has been tasty also.

Pros: Excellent energy booster, not messy to handle, great flavors-some with caffeine.

Cons: You need to cut open one of the ends of the packaging before setting out for your ride.

Good flavors, great packaging

These chews come in great flavors and the packaging makes it easy to eat on the fly. Can be difficult to open while pedaling, so I find myself cutting them open before I leave for a ride.

Pros: Sleeves make it easy to pack and eat on while pedaling.
Good taste

Cons: Difficult to open while pedaling.

Almost like candy

Clif Bloks are a great option if you're burnt out on gels. Great flavors and easy to eat. The tube packaging also makes it easy to get them in your mouth while riding.

Pros: Two servings per tube

Cons: Tough to chew if trying to breathe at the same time.

Shot blocks are my favorite way to fuel

I liked goos and gels the best until I tried shot blocks. These things taste good. They remind me of knox blox my mom used to make. Energy, calories, nutrition is typical but the easy of carry and taste put these over the top.

Pros: easy of carry, taste, texture, if you like knox blox or jello jigglers you'll like these

Shot hits the spot!

These things work great before and during a ride. I usually gobble up 2 or 3 at a time when needed and they do an awesome job at curbing hunger and providing energy.

Pros: Taste great, less filling, and provides energy.

Cons: Would be nice if the package was resealable.

The Good Stuff

I have used these for several years now and they work great on longer rides. I also like them as something different from gels when I am doing an endurance race.

Pros: Tastes good and does the job.

Cons: A little harder to eat on the bike than Gels.

Purty good

These are alright. I prefer the GU Chomps as these seem a little less satisfying while needing to be chewed more. Can coat your teeth sometimes. But hey. It's hot out & I'm dyin, give me some.
