What a great helper.
Makes keeping the XT hubs like new very easy. Only way to keep the Shimano hubs running smoothly with little worry or errort.
Pros: Great product for intended purpose of maintaining Shimano hubs. Easy to use.
Cons: Need to buy the replacement rings because you usually break the OEM ring in the freehub prying it out to use freehub buddy.

A strange tool. Not a gimmick, but hardly the next wonder of the world either. Any good?? Probably depends on 1) whether you can't just buy another brand new freehub body economically for your particular (Shimano) hub and 2) whether you believe everything you read. Everyone has a different opinion about what oil/fluid/soup to use anyway, plus semi replacing only one of the dust seals is less than ideal. Some would say that if you keep pumping slop through, then the seals matter less.. but not me. Ideally, you could simply avoid Shimano!
Pros: Good for some particular (expensive) Shimano freehubs. The replacement seals are good when needed, since Shimano don't sell new steel ones as spare parts.
Cons: The MS 'soup' is only needed because it is used to purge the freehub body of dirt. Imperfect cleaning. Better light lubes available.
