strong and light

I've put these on several bikes as replacements for worn out V-brakes or cantis. They just work really well. They're light and they don't break the bank. They're also super easy to set up. The stock pads are even pretty good, though I upgrade to red pads for the front.

Pros: easy pad replacement
durable
light
good braking feel

Perfectly serviceable linear-pull brake for not a ton of money. I picked these up for a friend and installed them on her old around-town mountain bike. They were a direct replacement for the generic/cheapo brakes that came on the bike (and had basically fallen apart), and these have help up well for three seasons of daily commuting in Michigan.

Good brake for the price. The hardware all appears to be good quality and the brake installed easily without problems. No noticeable flex in the arms. Cable boot helps keep all the dust and mud out of the housing.

My only complaint is that the stock pads are ok but not great. KoolStop pads made a noticeable difference

Good Replacement for old brakes

I replaced the old cantilevers on both my 1993 giant and my wife's 1991 trek in rebuilding both. I have discs on my mtb and dual-pivots on my roadie, so I was new to this style and pleasantly suprised.

Pros: great replacement for old canitlevers

Cons: if you have disc mounts, these are still not as powerful or as good in the slop

Inexpensive stoppers, great for the price. Once dialed in, these brakes are consistent and do the job. Not very flashy, easy to adjust brakes make your life easier.

Pros: Easy to adjust, attractive rim brake. Quick to install, comes with all accessoires needed for installation.

Cons: Mouth spread when unclipped 'shorter' than other rim brakes; use of 2.3"+ tires with these brakes will necessitate deflating tire a bit to insert.
