Assos Chamois Cream
> Skin/Hair Care, First Aid
- The Assos Chamois Cream reduces friction and keeps your skin cooler. It prevents inflammation and has antibacterial properties. Apply directly on the skin (avoid intimate areas) before each ride. Furthermore, after every laundering, apply a thin layer onto the shorts' insert. This to maintain suppleness, elasticity and antibacterial properties. Used by many professionals regardless of the brand of their shorts. Assos Chamois Cream - simply a must. Don't leave home without it!

My favorite cream I have tried a half dozen different creams, but keep returning to Assos. It is the right consistency: not too wet or too waxy. It does not leave residue in my shorts. I have ridden 140+ miles with one application. Pros: Right consistency
Formula good on the skin and shorts
Neutral fragrance
Tingly :) Cons: none Would Buy Again: Yes Would Recommend: Yes Reviewed on: October 14, 2012 Reviewed by: Ron C., Oregon Was this review Helpful? Yes No Report as Inappropriate
Assos Chamois Creme Works great. Absolutely prevents sores, also appears to speed healing of sores if you forget to use it.
No offensive smell, the menthol has a nice cooling effect. Washes out of shorts in the wash.
A little expensive, but you don't need a lot, so it lasts awhile. Pros: Prevents sores
Speeds healing of sores
Smells good, cool feeling

Clever Name for a Good Product I've been using assos for a couple of years now for both the road and mountain bike. I don't know that it works any better than other chamois creme, but what I like about it is it doesn't feel slimy when you first put on your shorts (almost has a tingle to it), it has a pleasant menthol smell and it stops you from getting any sort of sores on your butt. What else can you ask for? Would Buy Again: Yes Would Recommend: Yes Reviewed on: March 22, 2012 Reviewed by: Darren R., Massachusetts Was this review Helpful? Yes No Report as Inappropriate
Awesome stuff I'm an admitted Assos fan - love their bib shorts, warmers, etc. Like most Assos stuff, it's expensive but worth it. You don't need a ton, but it definitely prevents saddle sores and has a slight cooling effect. Pros: High quality Cons: Relatively expensive Would Buy Again: Yes Would Recommend: Yes Reviewed on: January 12, 2012 Reviewed by: Omar P., California Was this review Helpful? This one is all personal. But if you are gonna use a chamois creme, that usually means that you are logging in some time in the saddle. Treat your butt to the best! Bought this creme to alleviate saddle sores and, thus far, it has worked.
The product appears to be water soluble and easy to clean from hands and shorts. No linger smell or "cooling sensation" after being applied.
Not sure exactly how much creme to use, and given its price, I'll be experimenting with finding the right balance of usage and protection. Pros: Works well in preventing saddle sores. Cons: Pricey, but still recommended. Would Buy Again: Yes Would Recommend: Yes Reviewed on: May 24, 2011 Reviewed by: David E., San Diego Was this review Helpful? Yes No Report as Inappropriate

Currently going through my second tub. easy to apply to my bibs. Doesn't smell after sitting on it for 5 hours. Say goodbye to chafing. Pros: It works! It's like sitting on butter... Okay, not really sitting on butter. But I can't ride without it now. It's that good. Cons: Not cheap, but I'd rather pay for it then sitting at home with saddle sores Would Buy Again: Yes Would Recommend: Yes Reviewed on: February 16, 2011 Reviewed by: kanekikapu, California Was this review Helpful?
