top mount front slx double

I bought this unit for my carbon tallboy. 2 by nine is old school now and the double ring unit is a welcome blessing.

Pros: better chain retention and shifting performance than a triple unit.the price is easier to take compared to xt and xtr.

Cons: none

Great deal for a front derailleur

The Shimano SLX front derailleur provides a great value in the Shimano line-up. The new SLX line is well made, lightweight, and has all of the function of the high end parts.

Can't go wrong.

Pros: Well made
Looks great
Shifts from one chainring to another

Cons: None

This is a great derailleur for the price. It's not the lightest, but the difference between SLX & XTR in terms of weight is really small. I've used this successfully on 2x9 and 2x10 setups.

The front derailleur is the unsung hero of the drivetrain. This one's nice because it's easy to set up so there is no run on any rear cog with 2x9 and 2x10 setups.

Pros: Solid performer; good value

Cons: Not XTR light.

Been mucking around with different FD's to figure out which one will work the best on my Mojo and 24/36/bash cranket combo. These are the best option so far. The Saints will work, too but are heavier. Reliable shifting action

Pros: Works great with 22 or 24/36 double set up

Cons: Wish they had an XTR option
Heavier than XTRs

Nice 2 gear derailleur.

Works well when I opt to run two gears up front. Tried manipulating my three ring FD to work with two, and this FD makes the setup run much more smoothly. Price is excellent, and the part will last forever. I love Shimano FD's.

Pros: Makes 2 gears up front much more smooth.

Cons: none.

Good derailleur but I still like XT

Good derailleur. It shifts solid and is durable. However, I am an XT guy so I would rather just get that. Shimano stuff is solid.

Pros: Durable
Shift well
