Kalloy Riser Quill Stem

Great Stem if you need a high rise

Since I'm older and have a problematic lower back, wanted to get my drop bars way up high.

Bought two of these, 1 black for a town bike and 1 silver for a road bike. Finish on the black one slightly nicer, the silver one is not anodized, so it will shine up with metal polish.

The only drawback it was difficult to get drop bars into the hole, had to use some muscle to spread the clamp, but it did go.



Pros: Good quality inexpensive stem. About 1/4 the cost of a Nitto Stem. Not as pretty but works as good.

Cons: Hard to get drop bars in clamp, but to be fair it is sold as a mountain stem.

Great price for a good stem

First off, it is a cheap stem. This works in its favor, especially if you are ok with it not having the finish of Nitto.

I bought one for my Bontrager Privateer as a stop gap, but ended up being pretty happy with it, and I still have it.

Pros: A good stem that has held up well and is cheap.

Cons: Not super pretty, but for the cost, I figure that can't be held against it.

The way to go to raise bars on a budget

good looking stem, raises bars to whatever height you need. Not much to be said; it's a solid stem that gets the job done at a great price. Can't go wrong.

so useful to raise them bars

if you need to raise those bars, this is your 1" stem.

Pros: lifts the stem up high

Cons: wish it had a two-bolt removeable faceplate

Great inexpensive riser stem for a SS conversion. Helped me get to a more upright position for my around the town cruising

Pretty stem. I like these on townies. The new ones have dome graphics, unlike the old ones.
