Cane Creek Gray Matter Brake Shoes

I put these on a few older (50s-60s) bikes and it was a huge improvement in their stopping ability! These are a a great deal for brake shoes.

Pros: Cheap!
Does a good job stopping you bike!

Cons: Gray color -- I wish these came in black

These simple shoes do the job. Although they lack some of adjustable features of other pads, they are perfect for old school sidepull brakes. I'd prefer black over grey.

Good replacement shoes for old style brakes

Good inexpensive brake shoes for older sidepull
brakes. Better rubber than on older pads but not as good as newer types. Gray rubber looks good on classic bikes. Just like older brake shoes you can not adjust the toe-in.

Pros: Inexpensive, good for older road bikes.

Cons: Can not adjust toe-in

Great!

These were the only pads I could find to fix up an old road bike of a friend of mine. They work great. Glad I found them.

Pros: They work for old school brakes

Cons: They are nothing fancy
