These are solid clips that didn't mar my aluminum frame.

Pros: solid, simple, worked.

Cons: Adds a little extra weight

Tried using these to attach a rack to a frame that lacked rack/fender mounts. These clamps are kind of a pain to work with, they're pretty flimsy, and the resulting rack-to-frame interface felt anything but solid. Would they work in a pinch? Yes, probably, for light loads. Do I like them for anything other than a spare/emergency part in my touring kit? No, not really.

Pros: maybe good in a pinch/emergency

Cons: flimsy, hard to work with, insecure frame-to-rack interface

Good seat rack option for disc brakes

With disc brakes, using the dropout screw holes isn't an option for mounting forks. These allow the user to clamp around the seat stay and mount up a rack.

Pros: Allows the use of a rear rack with mechanical disc brakes.
Can take a heavy load (40 lbs in my experience).

Cons: Heavy loads will negate the rubber coating's effectiveness. Paint suffered big time!
