DT Swiss R 520 Rim

Extremely Strong and Durable

Have these mounted on an old road bicycle with 23 mm tires in front and back. The rims have held up well to potholes and other road hazards. The rims have also survived a head on collision with a bus! Took the bike into the LBS after the collision, and they said the frame was shot (seriously dented) but the out of true rims were totally fixable. Although some spokes were a bit tighter than others, the rim was easily pulled back to true! Will definitely buy these rims again after they are worn out!

Pros: Extremely strong, holds true well, can handle very thin tires with ease.

Cons: A bit pricey. Pinned, not welded.

Solid, no-nonsense road rim

Built this up into a 28H wheelset and trued it once in 2 years, and it really didn't even need truing as I was just being picky. They feel solid, easy to build up and with a smooth brake track.

Pros: Strong, stiff, about as round as one can expect, good price

Cons: Slightly heavy but within normal limits for a rim of its depth.

Such a great road rim for building up a wonderful set of wheels. The price is great for the quality you get. They are stiff when built up with a good set of spokes. By no means the best, but no slouch either. You will not be disappointed in these rims.
