I bought alloy nipples to add some color and spice to a wheelset I built up. Three thousand miles later I have no issues whatsoever. You may have read horror stories on the internet about how alloy is less strong than brass (perhaps it is, but it is strong enough. Are these same naysayers lamenting that all rims are not carbon fiber? I digress.) and that allow nipples will seize to spokes (mine have not in 3 years of biking in all forms of Minnesota weather. Perhaps those whose spokes seized did not prep them properly?). My theory is that the cut-copy-paste phenomenon of the internet has caused much gnashing of teeth concerning alloy nipples. Buy them, sex your bike up, be crazy, ignore the forums just once.

Pros: They work as nipples should. Have seen no differences between brass or alloy.

they're nipples.

I've used both the alloy and the brass with great results. Hard to tell difference between these and the DT swiss.
