Camelbak Podium Water Bottles

These are very well designed and constructed bottles. Material quality seems really good. I love the one-way valve. No plastic taste. I've used these for water only, so no idea as to what happens when sports drinks are used.

Pros: Best quality I've seen in water bottles.

Cons: I never use the lockout switch - I'd prefer to simplify and leave that feature off. I'd give 4.5 stars if I could for that, but I'll stick with 5 because Camelbak lead the way for this type of bottle.

I'm hooked.

This is the only bottle I use now. They really hold up well. Easy to drink from, just give it a squeeze. The locking cap works so well that I actually trust a full bottle in my travel bag.

A step forward from the standard water bottle design; no more biting that nozzle or closing it on your thigh. Just squeeze this thing in the direction of your mouth and be quenched. There's a nice lockout feature that closes the nozzle to prevent spillage when it's in your bag or rolling around in your car. The nozzle doesn't seem to require any sort of advanced cleaning kit, but time may tell on that aspect...so far so good.

I like the on/off knob. The bottle jets the water out. My first squeeze while riding, I thought I was being sprayed by a hose. But they're simple, inexpensive, and seem like they'll hold up for a couple years.

My favorite water bottle! I like that you can close the top and adjust the flow. No weird plasticy taste!

I love this bottle. It is light, it doesn't store any flavors and it is easy to wash, fill and use. The shut off valve at the top is useful when storing in backpacks.

No spill, no gross taste, not bad looking. Shutoff valve is nice when they're kicking around loose in the car. Great bottles!

Not fun to lose though, due to cost..

Pros: Hold water, won't put it anywhere but your mouth.

The lockable cap is the best feature of these bottles, really like the new lids, although you either need two hands to open the valve, or a chomp with your jaws as you hold the bottle.

The bottle liners seem to help keep them a little cooler and there is a nice colour range. And the price is nice.

Only Bottles I Use

The bottles are durable and have a nice grip to them. The valve lock is a nice feature as well. The valve itself only has a "gush" setting.

Nice lid function

The 1/4 turn of the lid stops leaks and does not get affected by teeth bite marks like the typical water bottle sealing mechanisms. Nice color to match (mine at least) bike.

Best. Bottle. Ever.

The podium bottle is great. I do suggest steering clear of the clear version, as the clear plastic is a bit stiffer and doesn't slide out of the bottle cage as easily as the other colors.

Pros: Great lid, easy to grip neck.

probally the best water bottle i have ever used, have used them for about a year and not single fault yet, after i ordered the optional mud cap, dont think anyone could make a better water bottle for mountain use, easy one hand operation

The lock-out feature is great if you need to pack the bottle.

The anti-microbial stuff works. No more moldy water bottles and I've even had one sit with water in it for a month. I normally don't put anything but water so can't say how that might work for you.



Pros: A nice advance in waterbottles. Less leakage, deals with the mold issue.

Cons: old habits die hard. Took me about 6 months to stop trying to pull these open with my teeth. But then again I'm pretty dense.

please note even though these are leak-resistant they are NOT leak-proof. Especially if you finish a cold ride with a half-empty bottle then bring it into a warm area. Even if "locked", the air inside will warm up, expand, and push water out. I soaked an entire pannier this way. Keep the bottle upright. Even then you may think someone put a bomb in your bag as the air slowwwly hisses its way out of the bottle :)

Great water bottle. Doesn't leak, and you don't have to open it with your teeth. Just tip it up and give it a squeeze. Reseals automatically when you let go.

Love these water bottles! Traditional bottles spill a bit if the tops not closed. These never spill a drop. Really nice if you use a sports drink as it keeps your frame from getting sticky.

These are pretty handy bottles, and what I use exclusively due to both their construction and their valve.

Pros: *Valve-less valve. I.e. you don't have to bite/pull like a traditional bottle. Very handy.
*Bottle is very tough plastic.

Cons: *No insulation, if that matters to you.
*The sturdyness of the bottle, combined with the valve, requires you to squeeze very firm to get water out.
*The water tends to gush out of the valve, a gentle sip is not possible with this bottle. Think a water hose on full blast.
