comfy but a little long Like others have noted these are great bars but the grip area feels a bit long to me. I added an extra long stem to my bike to accomodate, yey I still want to trim 'em a little. One of these days. Overall, good width for climbing leverage and a comfy position for your hands. I put these on a single-speed cyclocross frame with fat slicks and they suited the project well. Pros: comfy, wide Cons: grip area is a bit long Would Buy Again: Yes Would Recommend: Yes Reviewed on: May 07, 2012 Reviewed by: Matthew W., Oregon Was this review Helpful? Great Looking Bar I put these bars on a rigid mountain bike turned errand bike and the bars are super comfortable. I have the bars mounted slightly below the saddle height and they are comfy, but at or above the saddle height is probably a better position. The bars have a nice little rise to them and the finish is very nice. I have had no problems using them with a front mounted basket. Pros: Good looking, comfortable Cons: None for me Would Buy Again: Yes Would Recommend: Yes Reviewed on: November 01, 2011 Reviewed by: AJK, California Was this review Helpful? Just like the Albatross bar, only cheaper These are the bars to make your city bike, Xtracycle, or old school mountain bike comfortable. Finish is nice, and the quality really shows through. I like Nitto products, but dang, for the money this is hard to beat.
Oh, and the last two sets I've seen were milled out for bar-end shifters. Soma's site said in the past (hey lookie, they changed it!) that these don't fit bar end shifters, bur really they do. Pros: Price, finish, great shape and hand position. Cons: Doesn't say "Nitto." Perfect Bar for a Townie This bar puts you in an optimum position for tooling around town.
I converted an old roadie with these and a Nitto bar.
Couldn't be happier with the setup. Would Buy Again: Yes Would Recommend: Yes Reviewed on: September 06, 2010 Reviewed by: DG, California Was this review Helpful? Yes No Report as Inappropriate
