Works well! I will admit to liking RaceFace a bunch, so these were an obvious pick up when I was building up a bike. They match up well, and bling out the crankset abit. Only thing I would like more is if they ditched the traditional backing and went to the torx backings that I've seen on Specialized bolts. Bit easier to keep tight. Got these bolts to use with a single ring setup and bashguard. They work great and are cheap Pros: Stay tight. Cheap Cons: none Would Buy Again: Yes Would Recommend: Yes Reviewed on: October 08, 2012 Reviewed by: es, Oregon Was this review Helpful? Yes No Report as Inappropriate
They work - period. No need to go out and spend $5 more on chainring bolts - these work just fine. I prefer steel bolts because I've broken aluminum bolts right off the spider in the middle of a trail. I feel confident with these inexpensive steel bolts. Pros: Steel, strong. Cons: Heavy (compared to aluminum), but should you really be counting single digit grams? These chain ring bolts are just a little longer than standard length and work great with single ring/poly bash guard combo. Strong, silver, and reliable. Just put a little bit of blue thread-locker on the threads. Pros: Inexpensive, reliable. Cons: None Would Buy Again: Yes Would Recommend: Yes Reviewed on: August 24, 2011 Reviewed by: David M., Maryland Was this review Helpful? Yes No Report as Inappropriate
Bomber. I replace all of my aluminum chainring bolts with these. Crank 'em down and don't worry about splitting them. They last forever.
That said, they tend to work themselves out after a few thousand miles. I recommend some light threadlock for long distance applications. Pros: Steel

I was looking for affordable steel chainrings to use with a second-hand crankset from e-bay.
They are perfect for this use, had no trouble using them. Pros: Steel, quality is good - no problems after a few thousand miles of lightly loaded commuting.
