Tektro Long Drop Adjustable Cable Hanger

Decent equipment

I purchased this for my recent cyclocross build, however; it turned out that I decided to run bmx v-brakes instead of cantis. I can say that it is a well manufactured product, with a nice finish and cable adjuster.

Pros: Nice manufacturing, finish, and cable adjuster.

Cons: Didn't end up using it.

Having a barrell adjuster is a great thing. The "long" drop is not all that long, I had pleanty of cable before the saddle. The only thing to watch for is if your headset is a much larger diameter than your steer tube. If so you will have to put the hanger on top of a 10 mm spacer, but then you need a 10mm spacer between the hanger and stem for the cable to go into the barrel adjuster.

Nice solution for front V-brakes. Barrel adjuster a huge plus.

Deep drop enables a smoother cable bend. Adjuster is convenient and simple. Does what it needs to do, and is reasonably priced.

Exactly what it should be. Fits great on a 1" steer tube. Looks good in black.

Pros: adjustable, black, 1"

If you need to create a specific mount for cable housing end, this works well, but it does look you into the seat post adjustment. If you adjust your seat a lot, this may not be ideal. However, it is an economical solution to a unique problem when trying to mate particular brakes to certain frames.

Clean lines, doesn't look like an add-on.

well designed

Nice deep drop with barrel adjuster. Works well in cramped stacks where the stem is in the way, and allows you to get smooth bends where it wouldn't otherwise be possible.

for cantilever brakes. a necessity for better braking from a steel fork, also for getting over a curved headset. its one of those thins that you don't have to think about too much. very easy to install. nice tektro quality and price...worth it.

Tektro Long Drop Adjustable Cable Hanger

This is an excellent adjustable cable hanger because its simple and study design. It gives enough room to bend the brake cable housing below the stem so that the front brakes engage and disengage smoothly. This works great for all bikes that have cantilever brakes up front.

Pros: Simple, easy to install, and good quality.

Works good

Does what I needed it to do - give me a little extra room for the brake cable so I could get a nicer, smoother cable line.

You can get this with our without the barrel adjuster...might as well get it with. In-race adjustments (cyclocross) are handy sometimes with a sudden wheel change or front wheel going out of true.

Simple product that does its job. I'm using this on my CX bike and love the barrel adjuster.

It has been bombproof on my set up and nice to have the extra room for cable routing.

Pros: Inexpensive

Cons: Not the highest quality

This is a great hanger. Nice, long drop with included barrel adjuster. Since this has a clamp, it makes it easy to swap out stems without having to adjust headsets.

Could be longer, btu better than anything else out there.

pretty simple. but much to say, but at least this one has an adjusting barrel. could use another 5mm of drop though.

A good product

Allows you to tune the length of your brake cable to offset pad wear. It works well enough but can be hard to turn the screw. It is cheaply built but works.

Pros: Adjusts brake cable length to counter pad wear

Cons: hard to turn the barrel adjuster if there is any cable tension

The barrel adjuster is great to have on a hanger like this which is commonly used with cantilevers that sometimes require fine tuning when switching wheels, etc. I also like the long drop which gives more room to route the brake cable around the stem and into the hanger.

This was a nice upgrade over my stock hanger. I like that they offer this in a 1" clamp. It's very adjustable and gets the job done. Great product.
