A bit heavy but pretty much bullet proof. I run it on a street/park/dj single speed & never had a problem. Like the adjustability to run my rear wheel in tight as possible. Comes with a nice pin insert/extractor for removing or adding links. Pros: strong, durable, easy to adjust links Cons: heavy Would Buy Again: Yes Would Recommend: Yes Reviewed on: May 04, 2013 Reviewed by: Michael P., Oregon Was this review Helpful? After 2 solid months of riding with this chain in somewhat technical singletrack of SE MIchigan, I'm going to give this chain 4 stars. The only reason I'm not giving it 5, is that it seems to have stretched quicker and more than a normal chain will. Being a Singlespeed MTB, it sees a lot of torque. I'm 220 lbs and will regularly almost stall my bike on some climbs, but just muscle it over. I've folded chainrings in the past, but this chain has not broken. Pros: Strong, Looks great Cons: Heavy-ish, Stretches fairly quickly Would Buy Again: Yes Would Recommend: Yes Reviewed on: July 25, 2012 Reviewed by: Roger C., Michigan Was this review Helpful? not worth the hassle Worked great for the first few weeks on my Surly 1x1. Cleaned it. Immediately started to make noise. Lubed it with every lube I had in my house. Still made an unsettling creaking noise. Took it off and soaked it in lube. Still didn't work. Got tired of it all around and put my old Z410 on for now. Pros: Really nothing. Cons: Retains grit and dirt. Heavy. Anodizing faded quickly. Would Buy Again: No Would Recommend: No Reviewed on: September 15, 2011 Reviewed by: Pablo, Oregon Was this review Helpful? Chain works great, I bought this for a 650B conversion project and was right in between links to get good clearance with a regular chain. Haven't had any problems once I got everything dialed in! I think it would be better to just save up alittle more and get a Shadow half link chain. Pros: Cheap Cons: Weak, broke links fairly easy Would Buy Again: No Would Recommend: No Reviewed on: August 04, 2011 Reviewed by: Jason F., Oregon Was this review Helpful? Yes No Report as Inappropriate
Good Solution When a half link on a 3/32 is necessary, there isn't really anywhere else to bother looking.
I run this with an eccentric BB and the half link is really critical for me to be able to micro adjust the tension.
Solid and strong and available in colors for those interested. Pros: Strong, simple Cons: Wet greased on purchase Would Buy Again: Yes Would Recommend: Yes Reviewed on: April 23, 2011 Reviewed by: Jonathon M., Vancouver BC Was this review Helpful? Yes No Report as Inappropriate
Strong, blingy I grew tired of breaking chains on my singlespeed, so ended up going with this because it is strong. And, hey, it's bling. Looks good, runs smooth. I guess the only downside is it's probably heavy. Pros: STRONG. Bling. Cons: Heavy Reviewed on: March 07, 2011 Reviewed by: overthehillpunk, Boulder, Colorado Was this review Helpful? For single speeds Some like the looks, I guess, but I can't see a real reason to get this over a standard 8 speed chain for your single speed. Pros: Look different. Cons: Heavy, expensive, no better than a regular chain. Not for multi gears. Would Buy Again: No Would Recommend: No Reviewed on: November 28, 2010 Reviewed by: Eric D., Ohio Was this review Helpful? Great chain so far. I run it on a single speed mtb. I bought it because it was one of the only 3/32 half link chains I've seen. I'm pretty good at breaking 8 and 9 speed chains, but the Gusset half links hold up well. I got he white variety, and the paint has held up so far. Also, other gusset chains have hollow pins which were are to remove with a normal chain tool, this one has solid pins and works much better. Pros: Strength
half link with 3/32 spacing
color option Cons: Some might call it heavy Would Buy Again: Yes Would Recommend: Yes Reviewed on: October 11, 2010 Reviewed by: Alex J., Texas Was this review Helpful? Yes No Report as Inappropriate
What is with these bad reviews?! I can't let a good product cop this...
LENGTH: Don't you people measure your drivetrain and calculate your chain length requirements based on your cog and chainring sizes? How about a little due diligence? It's not the products fault your slack.
WEIGHT: It is a SS chain you know and the weight is listed there for you to see - no surprises.
FUNCTION: If your Chain plates and connecting pin are stiff this is not uncommon or a manufacturing fault. There is a solution. Take it to a good mechanic. They will probably have a better chain tool than you and the expertise to remedy your 'problem' or just go to the Park Tools website and look at their handy tutorial on Tight Link Repair and do it yourself.
Finally the tin is not a waste. Another brand of SS chains I buy uses a cardboard box rather than a tin. Great chain but the box never survives shipping due to the weight of the chain. Inevitably I end up with a loose greasy chain mixed with other goods in the shipping box. This tin survives not only the shipping but many years storing bits in my shed. When I,m done with it's fully recyclable.
I highly recommend the chain but not all the reviewers! Pros: Correct chain length compatibility on difficult drivetrain size/length combinations.
Strong.

The chain looks cool. That said, it is heavy, and pretty short. I just lucked out connecting it across 48 teeth up front and 16 or 17 in back. If it'll fit and you're riding fixed, aka, major stress on the chain, it may be worth the weight. If you've a freewheel, maybe not. Disappointed I didn't even get to use this chain. It was too short, and it weighs a ton. I wasn't about to buy a second one to piece together for my single speed CX bike. Pros: Neat idea for single speeds Cons: Too short, heavy. Comes in a tin? Waste. I do not recommend purchasing this chain. Links are very stiff and the master pin would never loosen up. I ended up putting it back in the can and storing. It looks good but not functional.
