This thing is bright and it has a unique flashing pattern. It's a great tail light that is sure to get you noticed. battery life is pretty decent, but don't forget to take some spares! Very bright and simple and can take the Oregon weather. I have them on my bike, my wife's bike, my daughter's bike and all my grand children's bikes. Bright enough to be seen during the day. Awesome Taillight While the Planet Bike Super Flash may not have the brightest bulb it is still a great taillight. The strobe pattern is eye catching the solid LED can cause temporary blindness. The looks of the Black/Clear (Stealth) are awesome without compromising the function. Pros: Bright, Inexpensive, Great Looking Taillight Cons: No Reflector Would Buy Again: Yes Would Recommend: Yes Reviewed on: November 01, 2011 Reviewed by: AJK, California Was this review Helpful? The standard which all others are judged against A very bright light at a reasonable cost. It's not perfect, but as far as lights go, it's a light that you can always recommend. Sometimes these have issues sealing against heavy rain, or they might have the light pop off during rough terrain, leaving behind the rear cover and mount. The other 97% of the time this is a perfectly serviceable blinkie. For the price, these are acceptable trade-offs. Pros: Bright.
Good battery life
Small.
Flexible mounting. Cons: There are brighter.
Doesn't include rack mount.
Sometimes doesn't seal out water well enough. Would Buy Again: Yes Would Recommend: Yes Reviewed on: March 23, 2011 Reviewed by: Timothy S., Kentucky Was this review Helpful? Yes No Report as Inappropriate
Attention! Attention! If drivers don't notice this light, they shouldn't be driving. It's bright and has what some have called a "seizure-inducing" pattern.
In addition to being the best tailight I've used, it's versatile. Planet Bike makes a bracket that attaches to rear racks. I ordered mine from PB, as almost no one else seems to stock them. It's on my commuter and holds the light even when I ride through potholes that have their own area codes.
I now own four of these lights and have given a few others as gifts.
Pros: High visibility. High versatility. High battery life. Plus, Planet Bike is the sort of company I like to support. (Universal Cycles is, too.) Cons: Some have noted a lack of waterproofness. I haven't had that problem with mine, and I've been caught in a few torrents. this light is super bright gets peoples attention. not as water proof as I'd like if i ride in the rain have to take it home and let it dry out before it will work again. but once dry works fine. I first used one of these lights on a Gran Fondo last year. I mounted the light directly on the seatpost down low near the rear wheel. The event took 14 hrs in attracious conditions with torrential rain for 10 of those 14hrs. The light worked well, blinking (very) brightly for 12 hours then is stopped blinking and (despite trying to switch the mode)stayed on for the remaining time. After the event and upon closer inspection I discovered that the light had about 1/2 a teaspoon of water inside. After opening the light and drying it out over night it has worked flawlessly ever since. Considering the conditions the light endured some 10 hrs of virtual immersion and constant spray. I am not surprised at the ingress of water but I was surprised by it still working and it's recovery. Pros: Can be mounted on a jersy, bag or virtually anywhere on a bike with the available mounts.
Excellent power consumption.

A great little taillight - highly visible, reasonably weather proof, good battery life, and multiple mounting options. Wish there were provisions for mounting to seat rails though. Pros: Bright, compact, good battey life, multiple mount options. Cons: Belt/pack clip option has tendency to pop off of packs. One of two that I own is not as rainproof as I'd like. Great taillight This is the most prevelant tailight in Portland, OR - because it works great. You can see it a long way off. I own 3 now. Pros: Mounts easily many places. Cons: battery could be higher quality. Would Buy Again: Yes Would Recommend: Yes Reviewed on: September 15, 2010 Reviewed by: Stewart S., OR Was this review Helpful? Yes No Report as Inappropriate
Great light My friends call it the 'seizure light'. Strobe mode is very bright and effective. Can't remember the last time I changed the battery. Pros: >Super crazy bright
>Battery lasts forever Cons: none. Would Buy Again: Yes Would Recommend: Yes Reviewed on: September 01, 2010 Reviewed by: danfinger, SFCA Was this review Helpful? Yes No Report as Inappropriate
Best rear blinky Got one of these after I noticed a rider about 1/2 mile in front of me had one flashing during the day. I caught up to him to find out which blinky he had. The strobe on this is among the brightest I've seen - I ride with 20-30 riders twice every week on evening rides. Many now use this.
Battery life is comparable to my prior experience with the Blackburn MARS 3.0 lights - which don't strobe as brightly.
I have one on each bike that have lasted a couple of years (6-7k mi/yr) through rain/shine/day/night.
Suggest using threadlock for the nut/bolt for the seat post/stay bracket. Pros: very bright strobe/flash, good battery life, can use rechargeables Cons: no battery life indicator - but none really do :) Would Buy Again: Yes Would Recommend: Yes Reviewed on: September 01, 2010 Reviewed by: Francis (Team EARTHDREAMS), WA Was this review Helpful?
