High Quality Chain worth the price. I have run the connex 908 and have been able to get 30% more life than the shimano chain that came with the bike. Same riding conditions (wet, muddy, dry, dusty), same lube (dumond), and cleaning every other ride.
Every chain going on the mt bikes will be this one.
Comes with an easy to use quick connect link too! Pros: No rust, long running life. Cons: Costs more. Would Buy Again: Yes Would Recommend: Yes Reviewed on: March 17, 2013 Reviewed by: Karsten Z. Was this review Helpful? Yes No Report as Inappropriate
Best Chain, Best Connection I used to use SRAM exclusively, and then I discovered UC and decided to try the Wippermann.
It is great, the connex is fantastic.
German engineering at its best. Pros: Durable and easy to use Cons: connex connectors are not available everywhere, best to carry spares. Would Buy Again: Yes Would Recommend: Yes Reviewed on: October 18, 2012 Reviewed by: Jon, Canada Was this review Helpful? Yes No Report as Inappropriate
Nice strong chain.
I'm a clyde so a strong chain is a must.
The quick connects are easy to use.
Pros: Strong.
Quick connects are easy to use.
Durable. Cons: Not the lightest chain. Would Buy Again: Yes Would Recommend: Yes Reviewed on: March 19, 2012 Reviewed by: Steve S., California Was this review Helpful? Yes No Report as Inappropriate
Wipperman makes the best chains. The 908 isn't the best they make, but it's still a really reliable product that is easy to clean. My favorite manufacturer. If you're going to buy a chain, buy a Wipperman - they are reliable. Pros: Easy to clean
Durable Cons: Not cheap Would Buy Again: Yes Would Recommend: Yes Reviewed on: November 15, 2011 Reviewed by: Erik K., Colorado Was this review Helpful? Yes No Report as Inappropriate
Love these chains for their price/weight and durability. No problems yet, and we've used a number of them on XC and road applications. Great Chain This and all other connex chains are my "go to" chains. My commuter bike and mountain bike are both equipped with connex chains. I don't have a car and get everywhere by bike, so I put on some heavy mileage on these chains. Never had a failure. The quicklink is fairly easy to put together and take apart also. nice chain, but leaks rust I am huge on chain maintenance. But this chain wouldn't stop leaking rust. The NI plating shouldn't be hard to get even but they failed somehow. I actually prefer their link to sram, but after snapping a few 990 chains, I went back to a 990 cross step no rust and its held up in the same sections that broke the regular chains. And no rust. I use pedros in a chain machine every post ride due to the sandy conditions. I use rocknroll (blue). My chain always looks very new. Except this one which would rust between rides and even stained my xg999 cassette Pros: tough
nice link Cons: rust, only thing on my bike that could/did Would Buy Again: No Would Recommend: No Reviewed on: July 05, 2011 Reviewed by: aaron s., Illinois Was this review Helpful? Yes No Report as Inappropriate

I really wanted to like this chain but have gone back to Sram chains. I found this chain to be loud, shift poorly and wear quickly. Pros: Connex link Cons: Wore out quickly Would Buy Again: No Would Recommend: No Reviewed on: September 15, 2010 Reviewed by: Roman M., Oregon Was this review Helpful? Yes No Report as Inappropriate
Reliable, easy to install Love the connecting link in the Connex chains versus SRAM equivalent. Quiet and dependable Pros: Does the job without fail. Superior system for its connecting link Cons: Costs a bit more, but is worth it Would Buy Again: Yes Would Recommend: Yes Reviewed on: September 12, 2010 Reviewed by: stuart s., Virginia Was this review Helpful?
