Bought this adapter so that my Stroker Trail brakes will work on a rigid fork with international mounts. I've been totally satisfied with this product so far. It has worked as advertised.

Fits just right

Got the 180 mount for my stroker carbon brakes. It fit perfect on the frame and was simple to adjust with the caliper. A great value for the quality you get!

I used the adapter to mount a Hayes El Camino caliper to an I.S. fork, and it was very easy. The adapter came with screws. Install was a breeze. It was easy to get the caliper mounted properly and set up drag free.

Pros: It worked perfectly for my El Camino brake on an IS fork.

Cons: None.

Sturdy and precise

Simple and easy to install. Used instead of shimano adapter which was not available at time of purchase.

Pros: Precise position and solid interface.


Cons: Clunky looking compared to shimano adapter.

Not much I can say, besides it did its job. Fit my brakes correctly, wasn't too heavy, reasonably priced. Easy install

Just works.

They fit well, the hold tight, they are not too bulky. They just work, like they should.

Pros: good fit, easy to install

Cons: bit expensive for a little bit of metal, but normal for adapters out there.

Approved, but expensive

These are interchangeable with other brands, including Shimano (in my limited experience), but they're still too expensive (Shimano's are horribly expensive). Work fine, and I trust them unlike some of the generic no-name adapters out there. One star off for expense.

Perfect fit

I have the V7 adapter and it fits well on my Fox Float 140 RL. It has a post mount already, so the included adapter and longer bolts are all you need. You'll of course also need a bigger V7 rotor.

Pros: Fits perfectly and has a good finish

Nicely machined adapter with loctite'd screws. installed it on my 02 specialized stumpy fsr pro and voila, hayes stroker on the bike.

Pros: idiot-proof installation

Cons: Little pricy for a piece of metal.

Thanks Universal Cycles for saving my build!

In the process of swapping forks, I discovered that I needed an adapter to use my 8" rotor with a 6" post mount. Only problem is, NO ONE has this adapter! I checked every reputable shop in my area and even the ones who carried Hayes didn't have it. Lo and behold, I stumble upon Universal's massive selection of Hayes adapters! As with any adapter, any original part is unlikely to go wrong, and in my experience the adapter has held up perfectly. Came with extra screws that replaced my semi-stripped six year old ones, and has yet to fail on me. Only downside to the specific adapter I got was the price.

Pros: -Somewhat unique part (in my case) that few shops carry.
-Solid OEM part.

Cons: -Price (I would expect an adapter to be less than 17 bucks).

Adapter for Rock Shox

I used this adapter to change from a six inch rotor to an eight inch rotor on my Rock Shox fork. Installation was easy and alignment was perfect. Everything has held tight and remained true since initial set up. No complaints from me.

Pros: Makes converting to a larger rotor a snap

Cons: Only works with certain forks so make sure you get the right one

Its an adaptor. Order the right size and the right brand and it will work.

Pros: Hayes brakes won't work with other brands adaptors. This one works!

Adapts 74mm caliber to 51mm IS frame (rear brakes). Come with the 2 needed hex bolts, but without washers. I added washers & also applied more locktite during installation. Fits perfectly.

Pros: Perfect fit.

Cons: Hex bolts should come with washers (I know, small point).

This works as it was designed to. Fit properly. Had to change this when I swapped my Marzocchi 888 for a Boxxer fork. Why can't they standardize these things?
