Shimano DA Grease is awesome. Not the thickest or thinnest grease out there, but it seems to really last.
Use only a light coating, and get the special Shimano cable grease for lubing shifter/derailleur cables (SP-41, I believe).

This is a good quality lubricant suitable for BB, hubs, headsets, etc. A little goes a long way, you don't have to use a heavy application like wheel bearing grease.
Pros: Good Quality
Good lubrication with just a light application
Cons: A little pricey compared to comparable products.

Yes No Report as InappropriateReally great stuff, there's a reason Shimano calls it "special grease." Tacky enough to make it easy to place/replace bearings, very resistant to contamination, and low-ish viscosity to ensure minimal drag). Oh, and it's bright, cartoon-radioactive green. Not a color found in nature.
Use sparingly for bearings, cables, and other moving parts. I've read that Shimano recommends a decent coat on the cone, balls, and bearing cup, but don't "pack" the bearing assembly full of this grease: its tacky properties are to ensure everything stays greased, without submerging the whole assembly. There's no sense in wasting it on threads or seatposts. Made in Germany, oddly enough, if you care about such things.
Pros: Tacky, low-viscosity, resists contamination, easy to clean, green, smells good (!), "special"
Cons: expensive, precious, green
