Great traction out of a decent weight tire! I make sure I have a pair of these ready to go for those muddy days.
Work great in the mud, but don't bother with them in the snow, I think maybe the stick-e would be better, but DTC is still too slick. Pros: Traction in mud, weight. Cons: Winter traction Would Buy Again: Yes Would Recommend: Yes Reviewed on: May 15, 2013 Reviewed by: Robert N., Michigan Was this review Helpful? Yes No Report as Inappropriate
Kenda Nevegal tire Very grippy.great all around tire (loose or hard pack trail) Deep knobs..light. Fast rolling tires.
Pros: Fast rolling Cons: Wears fast Would Buy Again: Yes Would Recommend: Yes Reviewed on: August 20, 2012 Reviewed by: Jim F., California Was this review Helpful? Yes No Report as Inappropriate
Traction is good and cornering is good so what's not to like, right? Try rolling resistance! These are the slowest tires on the planet! Pros: Confidence inspiring as they do hook up well when pushed and for DH use. Cons: Just plain slow - worst rolling resistance out of all the tires tested in a German magazine. Use as a front tire only and consider the "Peaty" cut if you do (google it). Would Buy Again: No Would Recommend: No Reviewed on: June 25, 2012 Reviewed by: Greg A., Oregon Was this review Helpful? Old standby After 8+ years, and many sets, these are still my go to tire of choice for trail riding. I have tried offerings from continental, and maxxis and this tire beats both in traction, wear, and value. Pros: competitive weight range, great grip in wet and dry. Cons: Older design but still the best Would Buy Again: Yes Would Recommend: Yes Reviewed on: February 27, 2012 Reviewed by: John B., Oregon Was this review Helpful? Yes No Report as Inappropriate
2.1, 2.35, 2.5, 2.7 ALL FANTASTIC! This has been my fallback tire for a long time. I've generally moved on from them now, but for anyone looking for a good do-all recreational tire these are hard to beat. I have moved on to more specific condition tires, but these still see action when I don't feel like swapping tires for a while. Pros: Great overall do-all tire. Cons: Slow rolling
Wear fast
Not a race tire (IMHO) Would Buy Again: Yes Would Recommend: Yes Reviewed on: January 25, 2012 Reviewed by: Jon Z., Oregon Was this review Helpful? Yes No Report as Inappropriate
The Nevegal is a very excellent all-around tire. The 2.35" tubeless version is solid! It could be a tad lighter, but it grips great, rolls well, doesn't leak! It can also be cut for wetter riding. The only way this tire could improve is if it was lighter. And the only place where other tires might be better would be a semi-slick if you're riding on slickrock. Pros: Versatile
Reliable
Grippy
Clears mud
Grips hardpack Cons: Could be ~100g lighter Would Buy Again: Yes Would Recommend: Yes Reviewed on: November 15, 2011 Reviewed by: Erik K., Colorado Was this review Helpful? Yes No Report as Inappropriate
Peer pressure purchase Yeah, these tires, um.. Okay I'll start with the basics, single plys are pretty light. They don't show much signs of wear, even after a few family "street" rides. Say 50 miles on road? They grip and corner great. Very large. The 2.1's are almost the old standard 2.3's. The 2.35 are a small amount larger than that. They work well on everything but full on mud. Wet and rainy stuff is fine. They do have some noticable drag.
Here is my problem, I remember Kendas from years ago being "cheap" tires. I've been hard pressed to spend $40 or more on tires with the Kenda name. I've run Maxxis for years and this year, I wanted something different. And Maxxis doesn't really have a Nevegal style tire if you run a 2.35 and 2.1 setup. Well Like I said they work great, but remember the road rides? I would swear that I needed to true my wheels. Why? They aren't molded straight. I'm a freak about stuff like that. The tire is seated evenly, rim is as true as can be(+/- 1mm) and the thing wobbles like mad. Really? There is no reason for this at all at this price point. I've had 7 different Maxxis tires and Tiogas and a few Panaracers, not one of them has ever been this bad. In fact, I beleave the only tire I have is an old WTB tire that had this. Both the front and rear tires veer off center by 4mm and 6mm respectively. I can feel it on hard pack out on the trail and it bugs me. Even though they are great preforming tires, I think I'll stick with Maxxis next time. Pros: Great working dry to medium moisture tire. Wear nicely. Large volume. Relatively light for the size. Almost the best tire ever, if you don't mind a poor build. Cons: The center line of the tread wanders. They have noticable drag. Overpriced for the build quality. Kenda nevegal great tire, has lasted longer than other tire I have used. It is a littel chunky but on the front it holds up well across a variety of terrain. My all time favorite tire I have always loved the Nevegal. Always provides great traction in all conditions. My favorite all around tire for the Pacific Northwest. I use a 2.35 on the front and a 1.95 or 2.1 on the rear. Pros: Great traction, clears mud. Cons: Rolls slightly slower than some. Just OK I'd call these great summer tires and just adequate wet weather tires. I've run UST most the time because the non-UST don't run tubeless well. With all the new tubeless tires now coming out, Nevegals better step up or move over. Pros: Low rolling resistance, tough in UST version. Cons: Just OK grip in wet weather, need a lighter tubeless ready version. Would Buy Again: Yes Would Recommend: Yes Reviewed on: May 18, 2011 Reviewed by: Shannon W., Oregon Was this review Helpful? Trusty tires Have had several Nevegals in the past: 2.1, 2.35, UST, kevlar bead.
All have performed beautifully but i prefer 2.1 kevlar bead. UST is just too heavy.
Word of caution if converting to tubeless, it may take a while to seal the beads, make sure they're soapy and nice and pump up the compressor.
All around tire, trusty traction, braking and cornering when new, not so trusty after knobs wear halfway, although this may be common on other tires.Beware on wet roots at an angle, may slip.
Sidewalls have held for rocky terrain riding, scuffed but not broken. Pros: Trusty traction. Good sidewalls. Cons: A bit hard to seal beads on tubeless. Looses traction after halfway worn. May slip on wet roots. Would Buy Again: Yes Would Recommend: Yes Reviewed on: May 17, 2011 Reviewed by: Josue D., Puerto Rico Was this review Helpful? Yes No Report as Inappropriate
These are my favorite tires that I have used. The tread pattern is great for a wide variety of terrain. They grip well while cornering and braking. The only issue is they will wear down quickly if ridden on the asphalt. Pros: great grip
tread pattern Cons: can be a little pricey

Great tire for PNW riding The Stick-E rubber is great for wet roots and rocks and is what I run for riding in the PNW fall/winter. I then switch to the DTC for spring and summer riding.
I've used Specialized Enduros, Panaracers, Intense and Maxxis. The Kendas are great for AM riding. Pros: - great for wet/muddy conditions Cons: - rolling resistance is not the best Would Buy Again: Yes Would Recommend: Yes Reviewed on: May 02, 2011 Reviewed by: Eric R., Washington Was this review Helpful? Nevegal A great all around Tire Nevegals are great all around tires that are cheap to buy because you can always find them on sale. They are light for how meaty they are and they seam to hook up on most surfaces. I run them tubeless and have the stans sealant in the standard tires even though it says it will void the warranty, works great! I road a nevegal as my front tire in the high cascades 100 and it was great. Pros: Cheap
Durable
Meaty nobs
Great training tire Cons: All tires should be UST compatible like Specialized tires. IT takes a little bit of work before they will hold air without leaking but they aren't USt version so no complaints. Good all-around tire The Nevegal pretty much does it all. No matter what the conditions may be, it delivers traction you can count on. It would be nice if it rolled a little faster and performed better in serious mud, but even so, it's an excellent do-anything tire. C'mon, there aren't many tires as good as the Nevegal. How many tires give you the type of grip you need when cornering and are pretty light weight at the same time? And don't forget that these tires can be purchased in the high 20s or low 30s most of the time. If you need to read this review to decide, then please stop reading and just buy the tires, you won't regret it. Pros: Sturdy, lightweight, corner amazingly, are very affordable. Not Bad but Nor Great These were real popular so I gave them a try. They wear pretty fast (soft rubber) and are not that good when wet. I ride in redwoods where it is always wet so this was disappointing. Great on dry terrain though. Pros: Grippy on on rocks. Cons: Inadequate on wet roots. Went from UST nevegal to none UST Nevegal and the acceleration is much better. The side walls are super thin, but worth the weight loss for me. Takes a little coaxing to get the bead to seal going ghetto tubeless, but works great once seated. Traction is awesome in dry to wet conditions. Pros: Great traction Cons: Thin walls
