The dh version of the nevegal is insanely heavy. I got the 2.7 dh casing version and it looks like a moto tire. I ran it on the back of dh bike at whistler and it did fine. Terrible in the mud. Mud doughnut anyone? Pros: Heavy duty Cons: Slow rolling, heavy. Would Buy Again: No Would Recommend: No Reviewed on: October 10, 2012 Reviewed by: es, Oregon Was this review Helpful? I've hear that Aaron Gwin actually rides Nevegals rebranded as Bontrager G5s... That's how good they are. In reality, these are super solid tires, don't think I've pinch flatted once after 2 sets. Plus, you can get a set or 3 tires for the cost of a 3C Minion and be just as fast. Pros: It just comes down to good traction for a great value. A real smart purchase. Cons: Heavy! but, expected for a DH tire. Kenda turned the sidewall into a gaudy billboard.. Great tire for the price Much cheaper than the Minion DHF, and works almost as well. Nice heavy DH tire with a good casing. Very good for the price. Pros: Cheap
Sticky
Corners well Would Buy Again: Yes Would Recommend: Yes Reviewed on: November 13, 2011 Reviewed by: OkayBiker, Oklahoma Was this review Helpful? Yes No Report as Inappropriate
Great Downhill Tire These mounted right up on my Mavic ex729, no tire levers necessary. The 2.5 inch gives a nice solid foot print on the trail. They are a bit heavy but when pointed downhill, who cares. They roll fast and rail corners in wet or dry conditions. With these I am able to run super low air pressures w/ no pinch flats. Don't plan on the riding pavement to your destination however, the stick-e compound wears quickly. Pros: Easy install, predictable traction, rolls well, durable, and Price!!! Cons: Weight, it matters to some people. Wears fast, but that's what happens with a soft compound. Pulled these guys (2.7's) out of the box and immediately noticed the weight. Not so much the gravitational kind, but the density of the rubber. Trying to bend the tread and sidewalls back into shape felt like trying to bend sheet steel. Seriously. That said, they were easy to mount and seated nicely. Turns out the 2.7's make a 2.75-ish width track (always a plus). They roll about as nicely as any other quality DH tire I've tried and grip really well, too. If you have to ride any pavement to get to the trail, though, they ride REALLY stiff over pavement bumps, even at low pressure (15 +/- psi). Pros: 2.7's are wider than advertised
great grip and rolling Cons: Really stiff Would Buy Again: Yes Would Recommend: Yes Reviewed on: April 01, 2011 Reviewed by: James Z., Michigan Was this review Helpful? Yes No Report as Inappropriate
Kenda Tomac Nevegal DH Tire I purchased these because they were a good price and my previous tires were not working well in wet winter riding. To my surprise the Nevegals worked really well in the wet and came into there own when the trails dried out.
These tires are a good durable tire that give more than adequate and predictable traction on most trail conditions. They are a bit heavy compared to some other tires and they are not the fastest rolling but overall are a very good choice.
Pros: Price, durability, good predictable traction in variety of conditions Cons: Somewhat heavy, not the fastest rolling tire out there Would Buy Again: Yes Would Recommend: Yes Reviewed on: March 17, 2011 Reviewed by: Ryan R., Oregon Was this review Helpful? Yes No Report as Inappropriate

BT Kenda Tomac Nevegal non-UST 2ply DH 2.5
I do use the single ply Nevegals on the Front wheel only. They puncture waaay to easy.
2 ply tire Tomac nevegal 2.5 DH was the EASIEST tire to bead seat I have ever installed. They popped in to place first shot . NO leaks and no soapy water needed. use mvc 823 rims. These tires are not UST specific but for some reason these wirebead Nevegals seat perfectly. They did not need it AT ALL but, I did use a cap of Stans in case. Pros: 1. Easy installation
2. Tight as a frogs ass fit
3. PRICE!!!
remains to be seen on endurance Cons: Not recommended to be used w/ Stans
