Steerer Expander Bought this to replace and FSA one that is similar but only single layer instead of the two compression plugs. I have a stubborn frame for getting the headset tight, and needed to crank on it. The single layer design of the FSA plug was ineffective in getting proper tension. This one worked for me. Only issue is if you have to take it off, it tends to stick, you end of taking it apart, whacking it loose, and turning the fork upside down to get it out. Pros: Allows good hard tension on the headset. Cons: Weight a little more, sticks and is hard to remove. I bought this to replace a cheapy that came with my last bike. It does what it's supposed to. No problems at all. It can be tricky to set initially. Just remember to use the lip of the plug as the size adjuster. Pros: set it and forget it. I bought this expander plug as a replacement for the extremely heavy expander plug that came with my Colnago Extreme Power. This new plug is lightweight and works great. It's been almost a year and no problems so far. Pros: Easy to install, lightweight, long enough to support the carbon steerer. Cons: None Would Buy Again: Yes Would Recommend: Yes Reviewed on: September 01, 2010 Reviewed by: Michael W., Maryland Was this review Helpful? Yes No Report as Inappropriate
