Kalloy SP-342 Uno Seatpost - Silver

Well it is a seat post. It isn't carbon. It worked out ok for me. See cons.


Pros: Light enough.

Cons: I did notice that the slot for the adjustment bolt was drilled wonky. It looks like they just drill two holes close together to form a slot. Whoever drilled the second hole shifted it slightly. Not as adjustable as others.

This is a nice value oriented seatpost. I like the one bolt clamping mechanism. It also came in the size I needed which meant I did not have to use a shim. Very nice look and finish for the price. I will use this seatpost again when I need a well built lower cost seatpost.

Pros: Solid seatpost with a nice look and finish.

Cons: None.

The Kalloy's a nice budget seat post. It's a reasonable weight and nice finish for a good price. The standard one-bolt design is nothing special, but its implementation with this post works well - it's easy to adjust the saddle angle and not too clunky, compared to many one-bolt posts.

Surprising Quality for the Price

I was pleasantly surprised to find that this seat post is very nicely machined for the price. The clamp mechanism is the basic low-level version, requiring a little jiggering to set to the desirable seat angle, but all of the pieces are strong, smooth, and the finish has a very nice subtle sheen to it.

Not light, but not a cheap piece, so a very good bargain.

Pros: Solid, good quality feel. Anticipated to be very durable. Very good value.

Cons: Heavier, but expected at this price.

This is fairly light and for the slight amount more than the standard Kalloy post it is a no-brainer. However, the graphics in the photo do not match the graphics on the post that I received. Luckily the red and gray graphics on the post I received happen to match my frame.

Pros: Light, strong, cheap, easy to adjust

Not the lightest or prettiest seatpost, but a great post for its budget price. The single-bolt clamp is easy to adjust and has a wide range of possible angles. Finish looks good, as does the new logo decal
