Sram Cables Sram offers the best in all their products, down to the cables. I feel they are best, as they are prestretched, thus making adjustments a breeze.
no stretch means no adjustments on the trail. set it and forget it. Pros: quality and price Cons: none Would Buy Again: Yes Would Recommend: Yes Reviewed on: May 15, 2013 Reviewed by: Kyle R., Texas Was this review Helpful? Yes No Report as Inappropriate

Great, inexpensive option for derailleur cables. Change your cables more frequently and you'll have a better, more responsive drivetrain.
The one tip I can give is if you spend just a few dollars on these, you might find yourself enjoying your current bike a whole bunch more and delay purchase of a new one. That may be good or bad. :) Pros: Cheap. Good performance:price ratio. Would Buy Again: Yes Would Recommend: Yes Reviewed on: June 28, 2011 Reviewed by: eric b., Wyoming Was this review Helpful? great cable Works great with sram road shifters. Tends to crush more than regular cable though. The black wire looks pretty awesome too. Pros: Performance and looks. Cons: Cost. Fragility. nice cable I don't notice any difference in using this un-coated cable and the more expensive coated cables in shifting performance. Perhaps the un-coated cables will wear the housing out faster? Pros: cheaper and works just as well as the more expensive offerings Cons: perhaps housing will wear faster? I have tried all types of cables, and Pit-stop cables just work no matter what the conditions are. Pros: smooth & long lasting Cons: none Would Buy Again: Yes Would Recommend: Yes Reviewed on: December 18, 2010 Reviewed by: Preston H., Nevada Was this review Helpful? Yes No Report as Inappropriate
SRAM has it's competitors beat when it comes to cables. While their housings are known for compressing, their cables are very strong. The PTFE-coated offering slides smoothly through the housings and results in significantly snappier shifting. Cables can make or break a drivetrain and while I'm not a fan of the Pit Stop housing, the cables are difficult to beat, especially for the price. Solid cables As others have mentioned these are not Teflon coated, but on a budget these do nicely. Basically the same price as others & generics. It's a solid choice... I use them on most of my bikes. Pros: They don't fray as badly as some others. They're reasonably priced and work just fine. Cons: none really Would Buy Again: Yes Would Recommend: Yes Reviewed on: November 16, 2010 Reviewed by: johnny b., Oregon Was this review Helpful? Yes No Report as Inappropriate
Who needs teflon? At half the price as teflon coated cable these seem to work just as well for me. Pros: Why pay more Cons: None Would Buy Again: Yes Would Recommend: Yes Reviewed on: September 15, 2010 Reviewed by: Nick, Oregon Was this review Helpful? Yes No Report as Inappropriate
Smoother than generic cables. If you're on a budget and don't want to spring for the teflon-coated cables, these are a good choice. Would Buy Again: Yes Would Recommend: Yes Reviewed on: September 03, 2010 Was this review Helpful? Yes No Report as Inappropriate
