I've used this on a couple of bikes now. It's good cheap bar tape. The vender logo isn't obvious at all on the black tape. The 'E' of Sauron bar plugs don't bother me as much as some of the other brand's chromed plastic ones. nice and squishy i love it when bar tape has the really sticky back to it. it makes wrapping alot easier. Pros: nice sticky back. Would Buy Again: Yes Would Recommend: Yes Reviewed on: June 21, 2012 Reviewed by: brad P., Wisconsin Was this review Helpful? Yes No Report as Inappropriate
Good value This is nice tape for the price. It holds up pretty well and has a good amount of padding but not too much. The 'eye of Sauron' (Easton logo) end plugs are better looking than the silver plugs you get with some tape. I hate this tape. I'm not a fan of tape that puts the company logo all over it. I have to unwind it and wrap it upside down so the "E" doesn't show. I really love the planet bikes tape, and highly recommend that. For a little extra, it will last longer, and not look stupid. Also, more colors! Pros: it is bar tape Cons: the E is on every square inch of this tape! Would Buy Again: No Would Recommend: No Reviewed on: February 27, 2012 Reviewed by: Garren E., Oregon Was this review Helpful? Good tape @ fair price A little nicer than the generic/eBay stuff for about the same price. Wraps easily, and stays put. Makes it easy to experiment with different lever positions. Economical, simple tape solution. We've stopped using this one, as we have found another manufacturer that has a bit more of a dirt-resistant finish. However, this is the basic - soft, simple and flexible. Easy to wrap and flex around corners.
However, for the price, there is nothing wrong with this tape. Pros: Cost Cons: Porous, will get dirty over time. Would Buy Again: No Would Recommend: Yes Reviewed on: November 12, 2011 Reviewed by: Western Edge, Washington Was this review Helpful? Yes No Report as Inappropriate
Quality bar tape This is a great price for bar tape and goes on easily and with a nice balance of stickiness and stretch. I like the adhesive band. I installed this tape backwards (starting at the stem) in the old school method, leaving no finish wrap of electrical tape, and it has held just fine. Pros: Quality
Great price Cons: None Would Buy Again: Yes Would Recommend: Yes Reviewed on: October 01, 2011 Reviewed by: Alan H., Washington Was this review Helpful? Yes No Report as Inappropriate
Bought to wrap my rear triangle I got this tape to wrap my rear triangle instead of using inner tubes, and you can feel the weight difference immediately.
It seems it can handle chain slap well.
Time will tell how long it lasts. Pros: Light, very elastic, and easy to apply. Cons: the center adhesive line, does not hold that well. Would Buy Again: Yes Would Recommend: Yes Reviewed on: July 18, 2011 Reviewed by: Cesar M., International Was this review Helpful? Yes No Report as Inappropriate
Absorbs Moisture I prefer this product over others that are priced more. Easy install and not flashy. Would Buy Again: Yes Would Recommend: Yes Reviewed on: May 31, 2011 Reviewed by: Todd S., Vanc WA Was this review Helpful? Yes No Report as Inappropriate
Cheap, I mean inexpensive, and effective. What more do you want? They feel nice and have all that you need. Why pay more? Would Buy Again: Yes Would Recommend: Yes Reviewed on: April 02, 2011 Reviewed by: L. D., Portland, OR Was this review Helpful? Yes No Report as Inappropriate
Nice solid tape This does the job and holds up well. Similar to other tape I've used. Would Buy Again: Yes Would Recommend: Yes Reviewed on: March 26, 2011 Reviewed by: Matthew B., Oregon Was this review Helpful? Yes No Report as Inappropriate
This tape works well. I have used this tape twice before and have had no problems. It lasted me about a season of riding before I noticed some minor wear but that is normal. It is not too thin and I found it has just the right amount of thickness to help take some off the vibration out of the bars. Pros: Durability, comfort. Bar Tape Very nice n' basic bar tape. Plugs are good. Make sure to have extra electrical tape on hand. For bigger bars the strip that comes with it is not enough. Easton Bar tape Have been using this on all my handlebars and it has stood up to hours and hours of use. It' very comfortable and also wraps well. Works well This is pretty decent bar tape. It's long enough to wrap your bars and the embossed logo feels kinda nice on the hands. Looks good, works well. Pros: Looks nice, bar-end plugs are cooler than the shiny chrome ones you get with cheap tape. Cons: Available color options are often pretty limited Would Buy Again: Yes Would Recommend: Yes Reviewed on: September 13, 2010 Reviewed by: Erik V., Oregon Was this review Helpful? Bar tape is perhaps the most boring purchase on a road bike. It's a pain to install and we all hate doing it. However, it's one of those things that can really enhance the rider experience or completely destroy it. Fortunately, Easton Velo is an inexpensive way to really enhance the rider experience. It truly is the best value in bar tape. It has nearly the perfect balance of vibration dampening and communication. I recommend it for everything except race applications. For your race bike I'd recommend the fi'zi:k tape. Easton Velo is an excellent value and a great way to make an older bike look much better. Pros: Inexpensive, great vibration dampening, wide color selection, durable, semi-washable. Cons: Difficult to find at times.
