These don't really stop any better than my twelve dollar avids, but they sure are nice. My only qualm was that the end-barrel-caps on my cable housing didn't fit in the opening - so I had to remove the barrel-end-caps and I'm running the cable bare - until I can find the proper cap to fit. The bare cable is really loose, so it's not ideal. I don't know what to do about that, but it doesn't affect how it stops my bike.
They feel really nice, and look just as nice. Smooth action. Fit and finish is much nicer than cheap Avids, but I am not sure it's 85 dollars nicer, but sometimes you just have to diminish your returns for nice stuff. My favorite bike part. They are simple, light, beautiful and handmade. No frills, do what they want, and cost a fifth of the price of the bike they are mounted on. LOL. Pros: Light
Beautiful
Made in the USA Cons: None - not even the price Would Buy Again: Yes Would Recommend: Yes Reviewed on: January 13, 2013 Reviewed by: Eric R., Arizona Was this review Helpful? Yes No Report as Inappropriate
Works great, like all Paul components.
Bought these levers to go with Paul Motolite brakes Pros: Made in the USA Cons: none Would Buy Again: Yes Would Recommend: Yes Reviewed on: May 02, 2012 Reviewed by: daniel h. Was this review Helpful? Yes No Report as Inappropriate
Review of Paul's brake levers I've been using these levers for over a year. My brake set up is XTR v-brakes and Mavic rims with ceramic coating. The quality of the brake levers is very high. They are solid and dependable. The brake feel and modulation on my set-up is perfect.
I got a second set to try with Avid BB7 disc brakes and hope they work as well as my current set-up. Pros: Made in California. Very high quality construction and materials. Great action. Cons: None for me. Would Buy Again: Yes Would Recommend: Yes Reviewed on: November 16, 2010 Reviewed by: James V., California Was this review Helpful? Yes No Report as Inappropriate
Simple and Sweet Man these things look amazing, feel amazing, and are as lite as they come. Best levers I have ever used. Pros: Everything - can't go wrong with these. Cons: None, even though pricey they are well worth it. Would Buy Again: Yes Would Recommend: Yes Reviewed on: September 02, 2010 Reviewed by: Dereck H., Missouri Was this review Helpful?
